The official American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD) suggests you apply using this simple 4-step method:

1. Wash your face! 
    -Use a gentle cleanser to target oil, pores, acne etc 
    - I also, personally, recommend that you use a makeup removing balm to break down stubborn cosmetics PRIOR to using your cleanser. Cleansers are generally formatted for daily cleaning, and not the removal of waterproof or all day wear makeup. 

2. Apply medication or treatments. (If your dermatologist has given you a topical treatment to use, it’s best not to combine or add on additional steps to your routine without having a follow-up consultation with your doctor!)
    - This is where I like to apply any serums or masks (once or twice a week for me). 

3. Moisturizer and SPF!
    - I use a lighter moisturizer for day time vs. nighttime because I do apply makeup almsot everyday for work. 
    - This can also be your last step in your nighttime routine. Don’t forget chapstick or over night lip treatments as well! The lips are a very sensitive and gentle skin and they need extra loving too!

4. Apply desired makeup or cosmetics. 

I hope this helped! It’s definitely did for me, because I’m still actively researching and learning skincare and am in no way an expert. I’m hoping one day to go to school and become an Esthetician and hair stylist. ☺️

My Experience:
   While I agree that the milk wash left the skin still feeling hydrated, and was a very gentle exfoliant— I personally couldnt get past the smell of the product. None of the other Beekman products I’ve used so far (Vitamin C drops, Milk drops, Bloom Cream, Facial Bar) have had such a stong, off-putting odor. It smells very chemical and plastic-like. I gave the product a week’s worth of washes and I still kept being pushed back by the scent. 

**This was also before I took the Picky skin quiz and am now seeing that there are a number of ingredients that don’t suit my skin type.**
