Skincare in the winter

For those just staring out with skincare what products are best?
I normally recommend people a sunscreen, moisturizer and cleanser. I don't know what products for skin types otther than mine.
This would be a great help when when people ask me how to start!

A bit pricey and hard to figure out how much you need to use daily
