This past weekend I was trying out a sheetmask that was new to me (pinned to my post!) As I was wearing the mask, I started looking into what ingredients provided the vitamins within the mask, and which vitamins those were.

I came across the ingredient Vitamin Tree Water in the description of the mask, which I had never heard of before. After a few minutes of trying to google the benefits of vitamin tree water, it seemed fruitless. Imagine my surprise when I took the scientific name for the ingredient (Hippophae rhamnoides) and searched that instead: I found out it is also known as the sea-buckthorn! It turns out the sea-buckthorn is nicknamed the vitmain tree due to it containing high amounts of vitamin C. So cool! 

Has anyone had a similar experience with skincare ingredients? I’d love to know more ingredients that might have uncommon nicknames!

Packaging: Heavy and luxurious looking dark green glass bottle. Generous amount of product especially considering the price.

Ingredients&#47;Texture: This product has a relatively small ingredients list with some superstar ingredients like green tea and Chinese skullcap. There are no additional fragrances alcohol coloring or other sensitive skin triggers. The texture of this product is like a light weight serum, a little viscous but smooth into the skin beautifully. It does not leave my skin tacky. I apply two layers of this and it still dries down quickly and plays well with other products.

Results: I’ve only been using this for about two weeks but I’ve seen great results already and I anticipate re-purchasing this again and again. The initial results from the first use provided a reduction of redness and glowing skin. Over the course of the two weeks my skin has looked healthier and more glowy than usual. This has really lessened the results of maskne, and has become my holy grail product.

This takes a bit of getting use to for my skin. If you have dry skin you can likely use this with a lotion. But if you have oily skin you might need to use this on its own.

We’ve had a ton of sun this weekend which makes me so happy, and I’ve been reaching for the @haruharuwonder_official Black Rice Moisture Airyfit Subscreen more and more lately. It took me a bit of time to find the best method to apply this spf for my skin , but now I’m really enjoying it!

- Lightweight velvet finish with no white cast, hydrating and non greasy.

- Creamy texture that melts into the skin almost like a gel. Spreads easily and does leave skin with a “velvet feel” 
- I did find that this can sit on the skin for a long time if I apply it after moisturizer. I prefer using this without a lotion. 
- No whitecast on me 
- Unscented

Reenee Rates It: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5
- This is a great sunscreen that I think would work well for most skin types. It does have a luxurious texture and I do enjoy the velvety finish but I only started loving it once I figured out how to apply this. If I applied after lotion and using the 2-3 finger method, it would sit on my skin feeling greasy for a long time. But if I replaced my lotion with this spf and applied light layers on top of each other, this achieved that soft touch finish. It’s not too dewy either. It reapplies nicely and I appreciate that it’s unscented. I would certainly repurchase it at its sale price! 

- Didnt work great for my gua sha as it dried down too quickly 
- Plastic packaging for an expensive product
- Worth noting there are a lot of extracts and oils in here so make sure your skin can handle the ingredient list

✨ Continuing on our snowy journey with the beautiful Super Glow Dew from @pure.am_official ! I love facial oils for gua sha, so you can bet I tested this out with both a stone and just as an oil.

- Dries down relatively quickly, which I appreciate when not using a gua sha (you gotta work fast with this oil) 
- Leaves my skin dewy and glowy but not oily 
- There’s a scent, I’d say it’s subtle almond flavor 

✨ EXPERIENCE ✨
- Reenee Rates It: 4.5/5 
This facial oil checks almost all the boxes for me! It fulfills its claims, always leaving me with hydrated and beautifully glowy dewy skin, it dries down without being oily, and its even beautiful to look at! The only downsides I had was that it dries down so quickly, it’s not ideal for my gua sha. I either have to work really quickly or just switch to another oil. The price point is high, but it’s another home run of a product from Pure’am. I’m seriously more and more impressed with them as a brand. I see this lasting quite some time, and I would likely repurchase if I can find it on sale.

- Rather thick product around the sugar, but you don’t need much if you apply to damp face 
- My skin did feel soft and lightly hydrated after use, but it was really quite painful to use 
- Smells so delicious. Like dark chocolate 
- I found it warmed up immediately in my hands. It gave a pleasant #warmth to the product when spreading 
- Washed off easily in the shower

🍫 EXPERIENCE 🍫
Reenee Rates It: 3.5/5- Sadly this wasn’t quite a match for my skin. 
- I found it to be too rough for my face skin (will repurpose for other parts of my body)
- I did not find it made much of a difference with blackheads on my nose 
- It did leave me nicely exfoliated and soft 

🍫  It looks gorgeous but maybe my sensitized skin just can’t take physical exfoliants right now. It reminds me very much of the grain on the Klairs sugar scrub if you’ve tried that one. 

Not bad per say, but just not an exciting toner for my skin. Works well, but not a HG. 

💦 Pure-Full Calming Herb Toner 💦
▪️Claims: Clear, transparent (glass) skin, suitable for sensitive and acne prone skin
▪️Main Incis: Centella Asiatica Extract (soothing), Licorice Root Extract (soothing and calming), Heartleaf Extract (moisturizing, soothing) 
▪️Texture and Scent: Watery, slightly slippery toner that my skin drinks up. Leaves moderate hydration and light soothing. Can be good for layering but might not be enough for dry skin. No scent. 
🤔 Thoughts: A solid toner for sure! Not mind blowing in terms of results, but definitely hits on the soothing claim on irritated skin days. I can see myself easily using this up but I wouldn’t say I have glass skin after two weeks of use. I appreciate that you get a lot of product (300mL) because if you’re layering this, you’ll finish it quickly!
