I suffered from some awful skin condition and cystic acne in my teens and early 20's. It was awful and was worst in the centre of both my cheeks 😪. It got so bad I was put on a course of Roaccutane when I was 23 which was tough but I hardly ever get spots anymore and no cysts at all!

Unfortunately, a lot of damage was already done to my skin 😔 now I have undeniable scarring in the centre of both my cheeks, rolling scars and hyperpigmentation. This has caused so many self-esteem issues and is what got me so obsessed with skincare 3 years ago 🤩.

I was wondering if anyone has dealt with anything similar and which products you have found work best for improving the appearance of cystic acne scarring. 

There has been some improvement in the scarring over the time I've been so obsessed with skincare, but I've used that many different products over the years it would be impossible to pinpoint which products worked the best 🤷‍♀️

Thank you to anybody who has any advice 🙏.

PS. I don't have any photos to share yet but I will try and get some put up when I can (It has taken me almost 9 years to get to the point of feeling OK with sharing pictures of my true skin, and around the same to be able to go outside without full coverage foundation on (for a long time I couldn't even take the bins out without a full face of makeup on 💄🤦‍♀️.)) It was very stressful and tiring!

Cystic Acne Scarring

Hey guys (I'm new so apologies in advance if I'm not posting correctly), I've been a huge fan of the Benefit POREfessional primer for a while now. I've been ill for a while but have been watching YouTube videos again. I came across the POREfessional setting spray and reeeallly wanted to have it. I was so chuffed when I won the due box on Ebay for an amazing price. I was just wondered what opinions people have out there on this setting spray? I paid a fortune a few months ago for Lancome's setting spray and datum it just made my face feel wet, it didn't set the make-up, just made it worse. So I'm hopeful that what Benefit have to offer up is much better!

This is definitely my holy grail cleanser. Not only does it smell gorgeous but it feels so lush on the skin (I leave it on my face for 15 minutes before washing off), it makes my skin soooo soft and my skin looks more radiant and youthful.

I honestly can&#39;t think of anything that is bad about this product.

I love how silky and hydrating this cleanser is. You can really feel it working from day 1. I&#39;ve grown to love this brand, I have one of their moisturisers, too, and can&#39;t wait to try more of their products!

I feel the amount of lactic acid in the product could be stronger.

I&#39;ve not long started using this product but I have been blown away by how great it makes my skin feel and look. It has lactic acid in it which has been helping with any redness on my face and I am starting to notice improvements in my acne scarring so I can&#39;t complain!

I have yet to experience any negative effects from this product.

I love this face wash. I use it after my Elemis Pro-Collagen Rose Cleansing Balm. Together they are the best double-cleanse for my dry, dull skin. This cleanser gently exfoliates and helps keep lines or sagging from appearing on my face. It is pretty amazing especially as I&#39;m constantly under stress and suffer with insomnia.

It takes a few uses before your skin gets used to it but it calms down quickly and is amazing for the skin.

I love The Ordinary as a whole (so much to choose from, I have so many!) but I had to say something about this product. I have awful, cystic acne scarring on my face and this product, in combination with others, has made a big difference in the appearance of the scars and has evened out my skin and made it feel super healthy!
