Usually mucin can be used before active products. If your essence does not contain any more active ingredients. Otherwise, it may conflict with your other care.

I have dry skin as well. Usually serums/essence are used after cleansing and before retinol. For me, if I use retinol in pm or vit c in am I would defo follow up with a good moisturizer
