PIE scars - what helps it fade?

I've noticed that a lot of people seem to talk about fading PIH, but I feel like I don't hear enough about PIE scars. I know that time will help to fade them, but there's gotta be some other tips and ways people have helped it? I have personally seen through my own experience that helping to hydrate the skin more has greatly reduced my PIE scars. They are still visible, but were honestly a lot worse beforehand due to inflammation. So if you've been successful in fading PIE, please do share your routine, tips, or whatever products that have helped you!

I don’t have a PIE issue so I can’t share any personal experience. I saw this posted recently in Instagram by Doc Ja (@thedermamamaph) and you might find it helpful. Link to the full post: https://www.instagram.com/p/CN2FdPrnAOi/?igshid=16n6kg3cwgqwd

Just like you, I also feel that when I hydrate my skin well enough, and use soothing and calming product, my PIE scars fade faster. My favorite ingredients to use are centella asiatica, mugworts, heartleaf, and calendula. This ingredients work like magic on my skin^^

Nice! I actually bought a Centella and mugwort product recently so I'm excited now to see how those will work for this 🙌

Azelaic acid, in my humble opinion, is soooo underrated! I never thought it was an ingredient for me until one day I was like “why not” and now I use it everyday. It’s one of my favourite ingredients 💕

Hello!! So for me personally, I’m able to use it 2x a day but I use it only as a spot treatment. I’ve been going down to once per day mostly just because I don’t find 2x is necessary for me anymore. My skin is also quite tolerant. And as far as I know, Azelaic Acid can be used with most other ingredients, so long as your skin can handle it. If you have sensitive skin, I would suggest playing on the safe side. I didn’t usually mix any other things when I did my Azelaic acid but I usually use just one active at a time anyway. I know Paula’s Choice has salicylic acid in their Azelaic Acid product so they can be used together (again, if your skin can tolerate it). I hope that helps ☺️

I'm also struggling with PIE like you. It's even harder to remove than PIH. You should start incorporating products that includes niacinamide, vit c, salicylic acid, alpha arbutin in your routine. If you join the COSRX giveaway, you can also use that one since propolis helps in reducing redness, i read reviews about it that some people got rid of PIE because of that product.

Ooh thanks for letting me know! I actually entered that without knowing it would be helpful for PIE so now I'm really crossing my fingers for it🤞 Best of luck to all of us with PIE

Azelaic acid is a best friend of pie scars (or worst enemy depending how you look at it) I had a skin who had really bad pie scars and after finishing one bottle it was noticeably improved. Obviously there’s still scarring but as he continues to use it they continue to fade over time! I recommend the one from the Ordinady since it’s the one he used, it’s a relatively high concentration, and it’s a great price! Just be careful to follow this with a really good moisturizer as azelaic acid is drying! Hope this helps :)
