The only thing that works for me is benzoyl peroxide (2.5-5%) - but it can be quite irritating and drying for some. Alternatives would be treatments with a higher concentration of salycilic acid

I use it on problematic areas a few times a week - I apply it after cleansing and let it dry before continuing with the rest of the routine. And I also use it as a spot treatment when I get a flare up
