I do need your help guys. I consulted a derma through online consultation and he/she prescribed me to use adapalene. But I have doubts with it because the prescription says that I should use the adapalene EVERY OTHER NIGHT on my first week. Then put the adapalene every night on the next weeks. Isn't that too harsh for my skin? The every other night method coz I know mostly on picky says that it should be put 1-2 times a week if you're a first timer. I'm worrying a lot on how my face would react my face would be surprised with this new regimen. Another thing! He/she prescribed a glycolic soap, is it okay to use with adapalene? Wouldn't it cause some harmful effect because it's just a facial wash? I really don't know what to believe coz I doubt a lot. But I do trust the derma, I'm just scared to try this new routine. I do worry how my face would turn out 😭 Please help me I don't know what to do. The derma didn't also recommend a moisturizer. What should I do?

Adapalene is pretty low percentage as your oily and resilient there is a chance your skin can cope with it. See how you go on the first week before consulting your derma again. As for the glycolic soap, Use in in nights your not using the adapalene if your really reluctant to use them in the same routine as its a soap so only going to be in contact with your skin for at most 30seconds.

It depends, every skin is different for me using adapalene, 4th gen retinoids, etc = burned face while for my cousin I applied on her face retinol -+ Vit C solution used by estheticians, we put it for entire night instead of 8 hours and no effects. I would recommend doing it with baby steps - 3 times per week first, then next week use it more often or add soap

I think you should follow initially what they tell you to do.. your skin will let you know if it isn’t working or is doing damage.. it is a trained professional who has prescribed this.. and as they are a specialist they wouldn’t prescribe anything that would damage your skin .. ask them if it is safe to use other products with it and what would they recommend

I know adapalene is an active ingredient mostly for acne prone skin. Although they always say to listen to the professional, your doubts and feelings are valid as well, if you think it might caused damaged or purging on your skin, you can always start it slow to let your skin adapt to it first then only slowly opt in more ^^ As for glycolic is one of the AHA ingredient and also exfoliant, you can use on the day/night you're not using the adapelene, you know in case having both ingredients tgt is too strong. better be safe than sorry
