Personally, I wouldn’t at your age. I’m 31 and just starting to get fine lines, and so I believe it is something I am going to incorporate shortly. At 21 your skin is young… the best anti-aging for you is SPF, SPF and SPF ☺️ but it’s completely a personal choice and up to you, but I wouldn’t personally.

its not about what actives are good for your age, but what actives are suitable for the skin concerns you have.

If you think your skin needs it, use it immediately. The sooner the better. I suggest, do it slowly to introduce to the skin. so that the skin is not shocked. For example, initial use starts with 3 times a week to see how your skin reacts. If, you are sure your skin is ready, the intensity of its use is increased to 2 times a week. and so on, until your skin is ready to use retinol every day. Don't forget to wear sunscreen every day. And pay attention to the use of other active ingredients.

What are the skin concerns you want to treat? I’ve used retinol in my early twenties as a mild way to help prevent acne (as well as preventing aging) but I know it’s not for everyone. Happy to offer different actives suggestions for what results you’re looking for though 😊

I’d recommend Hyaluronic acid (for hydration and plumping) and vitamin C (for brightening, lightening dark spots) in the morning, then a salicylic acid cleanser (cleanses deeper into the pores to prevent breakouts) and niacinamide (for regulating oil production, calming breakouts) at night, and using AHA + BHA 2 nights a week to exfoliate and prevent breakouts. I tagged some product suggestions (including my favorite moisturizer, just in case 😜), but I’m sure others have ideas too! Good luck 💕
