BHAs are best at working deep into the pores, they help with acne an blackheads, best for combo/oily skin. AHAs work more on the surface - remove the dead skin cells, smooth the skin and are suitable for drier skin types. Glycolic acid can be most irritating/potent, lactic acid less so and mandelic acid the least irritating. That said all skin types can benefit from both types, depending on what skin issues are being addressed. I use both to keep my pores clear, treat acne scars, hyperpigmentation and overall smooth the skin. Hope that helps 🙌

so both are chemical exfoliants, but AHA tend to target the surface of your skin, as well as providing moisturizer; whereas BHA targets both the surface and the pores. Therefore, BHA could have effects on acnes, sebums, oil glands... in general besides exfoliation, while AHA main target is just exfoliation. However, BHA tend to dry down your skin, while AHA are able to provide hydration and moisture to your skin. if your skin are on the drier types, AHA would be a better choice, if you're oilier, or suffering with acnes, sebum, blackheads... you might wanna try BHA. if you're dry skin but want to target acnes or blackheads, you could use BHA but be sure to moisture your skin well (before and) after the treatment. if you're oiler but don't need to target on acnes or pores... AHA also works for you, but be sure to flexible the moist or hydration level of your routine, cuz i've heard for some people AHA provide more hydration that they need and lead to increase oil secretion - which you might want to take into concern.

✨Both are types of hydroxy acids and exfoliate deeply the skin. (aha - alpha hydroxy acid and bha - beta hydroxy acid). •Aha are water - soluble acids and •bha oil - soluble. •Aha (e.g. glycolic acid, lactic acid or mandelic acid) soften up the skin cells and peels of the surface of the skin. So basically one can say they mainly work at the surface of the skin. •Bha (e.g. salicylic acid) works on the surface but can get deeper into the skin / pores and take of the excess sebum and dead skin cells. Both are good and none of them is better than the other one. If you have dryer skin, surface wrinkles or if you say you just want to exfoliate the surface of your skin, you should go for aha. It also works good for hyperpigmentation or sensitive skin. If you have a more oily or combined skin, or if you have an acne prone skin, the bha will work great. But you can also combine both. There are many products which contains both acids like for example the ordinary. ✨

bha is best for acne or clogged pores since it sinks deeps into skin, Aha like lactic acid is more for evening out texture since it's more on surface of skin, depends what your skin needs, start slow whatever you choose!!!
