Is it important to put sunscreen on even in the winter time?

Do you still have to put sunscreen on when it's like below 30 degrees or colder 🤔

It's not a matter of temparature. UVA and UVB are there no matter the weather and season. so yes, sunscreen 365 days a year is important if you want Anti-Aging and other benefits.

This is a common misconception in our country. They thought that it is the temperature that affects our skin. They say that people who live in colder places are fairer because... it's cold. UV rays are still present in the winter. And sometimes you need more sunscreen in the winter because the snow can reflect UV rays that is why people still get sunburned when skiing.

Although it may seem counterintuitive to apply sunscreen in the winter, when temperatures are below 30°F or colder, it is still necessary to protect the skin from sun damage. The sun’s ultraviolet (UV) radiation is the primary cause of skin damage and aging. UV radiation is present year-round and can penetrate through clouds and snow, making sunscreen a necessary precaution during the winter months. Up to 80% of the sun’s UV rays can pass through clouds. That means that even when the temperature is below 30°F and cloudy, your skin can still be exposed to UV radiation. Snow can also reflect up to 80% of UV radiation, increasing the risk of sunburn and skin damage. This is especially true at high altitudes, such as when skiing or snowboarding. UV radiation is more intense in these environments and can cause sunburn or even skin cancer. Therefore, it is important to wear sunscreen even when it is cold outside.

Absolutely Yes!! I would include sunscreen into my daily skincare routine so it will become a habit. I would also suggest finding products that contains sunscreen as well.

if it’s snowing and or I know I’m outside for a long time I will but other than than not usually if I’m honest. If I was skiing then absolutely (anyone remember those brightly coloured UV blocking sticks you could get in the 90s?).
