We know to apply retinol to dry skin, but how long do you guys wait for the retinol to absorb and dry before applying moisturizer afterwards? How long do you typically wait if at all?

You can hardly tell but there is the sliiightest herbal scent. Probably natural from the sage oil. 

If you have dry skin, this moisturizer may not be enough especially overnight.

*natural finish that leans glowy

So great for hot summers because this gel cream melts into the skin and creates a cooling effect.

You might mistake this as a hydrating essence but I found this to be quite good with exfoliation so there may be a possibility of confusion.

I also had to work this essence into my skin for quite a while so it’s not a quick step in a skincare routine.

— one of Mixsoon’s star products is made with only 4 ingredients: fermented soybean extracts, pomegranate extracts, barley seed extracts, and pear extracts. It claims to simultaneously moisturize, control sebum production, and deliver vitamins and antioxidants. Overachiever! The texture, as you can see, is viscous like honey ot aloe and can be stringy like snail mucin, but honestly absorbs right into my skin and feels like a plumping and hydrating essence. It finishes smooth and surprisingly dry to the touch!

I would recommend or gift this to someone who is new to skincare and is curious about serums and treatment steps of skincare. I think they’ll find this multitasker a nice additional step that will give extra hydration, subtle exfoliation (from the pomegranate and pear I believe), and some beneficial vitamins+antioxidants that a simple moisturizer might not always have!

Not bad, but just didn’t live up to the marketing claims. I personally don’t think that this moisturizer helped improve dark spots/PIH with this product alone, but it certain ticks all the boxes as a moisturizer; emollient, sensitive/blemish prone skin friendly with a non-sticky finish 🩵 


LICORICE CALMING CREAM 
— Features 58% licorice root extract water, chlorella vulgaris extract, panthenol, and ceramides to soothe and calm the skin while improving PIH. The gel cream boasts 100 million licorice extract exosomes that are supposed to soothe and help with the appearance of acne scars. I’ve emptied this moisturizer now and I can definitely say that it’s a goodie for my sensitive and blemish prone skin friends. I also found it to have lasting moisture for my combination skin especially with sunscreen on top. 

The herbal smell from the cold extraction of mugwort (as well as a few other ingredients) can be pretty strong, but I honestly don’t mind it because I am washing the product off your dave

This soft gel cleanser turns into a creamy foam so quickly and easily. It was non-stripping and calming as well. Includes 60% mugwort extract 🤍

 I love retinol for its proven results at stimulating collagen and elastin in the skin, but since I’ve leveled up my retinol percentage for my face, I like a gentler retinol formulation to use around my eyes. This one has 0.1% retinol as well as 5% niacinamide and 58% “miracle marine water”. If you’re a first time retinol user, I recommend testing it on the inside of your forearms before proceeding. Also start once a week to see how your skin tolerates it. I find the formulation lightweight and quick absorbing, checking all the boxes in a night time eye serum for me!
