Hello fellow Picky members! My sister went to Japan recently so of course I had to sneak in a few of my jbeauty wishlist 👀💸 and share my haul here~ 

Here's what I got (and why I got them):

1. Rohto Skin Aqua Super Moisture UV Gel 110g 
🆕️ it's the 2023 formula with new 2024 packaging. the previous version was in a white bottle with gold cap/pump. Never tried but seen lots of mixed reviews on the old and new version  

2. Hada Labo Shirojyun Whitening Lotion Rich 
🆕️ this is newly reformulated in 2024. we don't have this version here, only the premium version in the dark blue bottle. I also noticed that the Hada Labo stuff we have in Malaysia has a completely different ingredient list and formula than those in Japan, which is why I got one to try because curious~ 

3. Kose Clear Turn Medicated Whitening Mask 50s 
🆗️ no idea how good this is but you certainly can't beat the price of 1298 JPY/9 USD for 50 sheet masks! it's by Kose Cosmeport so it should be okay 

4. Lululun Precious Green Balance Sheet Mask 7s 
🔝saw this on Tina Tanaka's YouTube and she said it's her favourite from the brand so I had to try. It's ranked in the top 20 sheet masks on @Cosme (it's no.11 at the moment)
 
5. Canmake Quick Lash Curler Mascara in Black
🔝one of the top ranked mascaras in Japan and have won numerous awards over the years. right now it's ranked no.3 in the mascara category and no.1 in the mascara base and top coat category on @Cosme rankings 

6. Cezanne Pearl Glow Highlight 01 Champagne Beige 
🆙️ it went viral for a reason. swatched it in store before and she's gorgeous!

7. Cezanne Natural Cheek N 18 Rose Beige
🆙️ my second blush from this range. amazing quality for the price and lots of shade variety 

I actually purchased the Cezanne blusher and highlighter locally online, not in Japan (got both for RM 10.26 on Lazada 🤭). But I decided to include it together in this little jbeauty haul since it's also a Japanese brand and had only just arrived a few days ago 🤩 

Total damage (excluding Cezanne stuff) is 4075 JPY/116 MYR/27 USD 💸

You've probably heard of the popular Skintific Mugwort Clay Mask that comes in the jar packaging, or even tried it yourself like I did (love it btw, I've reviewed it previously) 

But did you know that they came out with a stick version of this clay mask? It's the Skintific Mugwort Anti Pores & Acne Clay Stick which I'll be reviewing today 📝 

It's my first time trying a mask in stick form and I think it's a really cool concept. The highlight would definitely be the convenience and ease-of-use 🧳 

🔑 Key ingredients 
• Kaolin clay

• Centella

Normal price is RM 53 but can go much lower as they usually have good deals on their online official stores 

💭 My thoughts 
• Travel-friendly size with sturdy twist-up packaging and double protective cap ✅ 
• Fragrance-free but has a noticeable floral-herbal scent
• It has a really soft, creamy texture that is SO easy to glide/swipe on the skin which really surprised me. It's just so effortless! 🤌
• Because of this easy and mess-free application, it can cover the whole face area quickly
• Similar to its predecessor in a jar, this clay stick doesn't feel drying and remains soft on the skin without hardening up 
• Another plus point is that it rinses off very easily 👍🏼
• My skin feels soft, smooth and pores look more refined after use. It also helps to calm and reduce the size of some active acne 🌋 
• The convenient stick form coupled with a smooth application makes it such an enjoyable masking experience and quickens the process too! So no more excuses to not mask regularly for lazy people like me 🤪
• I highly recommend trying this out if you have oily skin, acne or easily clogged pores. And if you've tried the jar version, then you'll definitely enjoy this stick one even more!

Contains alcohol and fragrance which is not an issue for me as my skin is fine with it. Just a heads up for those sensitive to both ingredients

💭 My thoughts 
- As its name suggests, this hybrid sunscreen has a milky, essence-like texture which is incredibly easy to apply
- Spreads and absorbs effortlessly as shown in the video. Great for when in a rush 🕐
- It does not feel greasy or sticky, no pilling and does not leave a white cast as claimed 🥰 
- Has a soft floral soap fragrance which I actually enjoy 🌼
- Application is effortless and once set, leaves a healthy, dewy finish ✨ 
- Despite the glowy look, this sunscreen has quite decent oil-control for a moisturising spf, (probably from the silica content) as it didn't make my face oily until 2-3 hours later when tested indoors
- Although I can't say the same for hot outdoor settings 🥵 Definitely needs to be touched up with powder. Oily skin types can skip moisturiser
- Looks good under makeup as it gives a healthy glow. Tested it underneath powder foundation and light makeup and it held well. Not sure how it fares with full face heavy makeup
- And most importantly, it does not sting my eyes! 🥳🙌
- I've been reaching out for this sunscreen a lot lately and I think that says a lot 🤭 Would recommend to those who likes a lightweight but moisturising sunscreen 💗
- I actually like this one more than the cult favourite Biore UV Aqua Rich Essence 😆

As always, what works for me may not work for you. Product was gifted but thoughts are my own honest opinion.

There's personally nothing bad about it to me, but I would advise those with sensitive skin to be cautious as it does contain 50 fermented ingredients which can trigger a reaction if you're sensitive to ferments. And while it doesn't contain fragrance, it does have geranium essential oil, geraniol and citronellol which again could cause a reaction to those allergic/sensitive to essential oils

💭 My experience 
I love how hydrating this essence toner is! It has a medium thick consistency, yet still runny and feels lightweight. I like doing 2-3 layers. My oily-dehydrated skin just drinks it up! It doesn't feel sticky or tacky even after multiple layers. My skin does indeed look noticeably glowing with daily usage, eventhough it's only been just over a week of incorporating it in my routine. I will definitely continue using it as my skin loves fermented ingredients and this works amazing so far! It has a strong floral-citrusy scent, which reminds me a lot of the rose syrup cordial we use to make air sirap rose 🤣🌹 My mom can smell this from across the room whenever I use this in my routine 😂 That's how strong the scent is, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your skin and/or nose. Overall, I would say that this essence-toner hybrid is a must try for those who enjoy using fermented skincare, don't have sensitive skin and looking for something to add hydration and extra glow to your skin. 

Like most pump packagings, sometimes the pump doesn't dispense the product out or it's not enough so you have to press a few times till it comes out. Not much of a problem but worth mentioning. Oh and as mentioned above, it does sting the skin a bit sometimes 

Sharing my thoughts on the popular @skin1004official Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum SPF 50+ PA++++ 💦

💭 My thoughts 
- Firstly, love the smart pump packaging and its slim tube 👏
- The texture of this sunscreen makes it such a breeze to apply! True to its name, it has a runny serum-like texture that spreads and sinks instantly into the skin 
- Application is so effortless! Little to no blending required and zero white cast! (on my skin tone) 🤌
- No fragrance or essential oil and pretty much scentless to me
- I did not experience any pilling issues 
- It leaves a natural to moderate dewy finish once set. It's not too glowy so it's still wearable even on oily skin types
- I've tried this with and without moisturizer and both ways work fine on me
- Fortunately, this sunscreen did not sting my eyes, however I did feel some slight stinging sensation on my skin in the first few uses. Thankfully, it doesn't tingle as much once I used it more often 🙌
- Overall, I definitely enjoyed using this chemical sunscreen. It feels hydrating yet lightweight and it's so easy to apply. The natural dewy finish is comfortable enough for oily skin even in hot and humid weather. It's a sunscreen that I feel would suit most, if not all skin types well 👌💯 


I've been loving this cream so much ever since I received it from @wakobeauty. Read on to know what made me fall for this lil gem 💎 

🗝 Key ingredients 
21% blackberry extract, 21% açai berry extract, 21% blueberry extract, niacinamide, 0.05% idebenone, 5 types of hyaluronic acids & 5 types of ceramides

Heavy, dark glass jar (70g). Beautiful luxurious packaging. Comes with a plastic spatula

💭 My thoughts 
This cream is an antioxidant powerhouse! Literally more than half of the formulation consists of antioxidants - the 3 different types of berries and idebenone are powerful antioxidants that help protect against free radicals which in turn reduces the appearance of fine lines and help to brighten skin. The addition of hyaluronic acids and ceramides provides ample hydration and are great for maintaining the skin barrier 🙌 

Seeing the word cream on the product packaging, I initially thought that it would be too thick for my oily skin to handle. But the moment the cream touched my skin, it just melts right away like butter 🧈 It has a rich custard like texture that's just so silky and nourishing 😍 It even looks like custard pudding with its naturally yellow hue which comes from the idebenone 🍮 

Surprisingly, my oily skin was okay with the rich texture even in our tropical climate ☀️ Maybe it's because my skin was a bit dehydrated these past few weeks, but it works really well in moisturising my skin without feeling greasy and leaves a subtle glow after fully absorbed. 

I can use it in both my day and night routine with no issues. I like using it in the morning for the antioxidative properties and at night combined with retinol to boost the anti-aging effects. 

It's too early to observe any reduction in lines but I did notice a slight brightening effect on my skin after use. I think this is one of my favourite finds this year under the moisturiser category and would totally recommend this for well-aging and barrier repair. 

This would suit dry skin and cold weather well, but might feel a bit heavy for oily skin in warmer weather. My oily-dehydrated skin likes it though so YMMV (your mileage may vary)
