Redness Relieving Daily Facial Moisturizer with Sunscreen
Recently, I’ve been on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer with SPF that won’t break the bank. I was met with options such as the It Cosmetics CC cream and the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizers that were so perfect, but so out of my budget. I really wanted to give some cheaper alternatives a chance, and this is how I stumbled upon the *underrated* Cetaphil tinted moisturizer, aimed at rosacea prone skin types!
I paid around $12 for this moisturizer. The packaging itself says that that the tinted formula aims to neutralize the appearance of redness and evens skin tone. I find that this does give coverage for my redness, but the tint oxidizes on my skin and ends up looking orange. I’d say the tint is more geared for a light medium skin tone, but I make it work on my ❄️ white skin tone anyway.
This formula contains physical SPF filters, Zinc Oxide and Titanium Dioxide. Although only SPF 20, I love having the added protection since I go in with a chemical based spf underneath it (I know this goes against the rules of SPF where moisturizer goes before SPF but I use this moisturizer as my foundation step). Because I don’t normally bring my chemical SPF up to my eyes, I love that I can use this around the eye area without any burning and stinging.
As for the finish, this moisturizer is super DEWY on my oily skin. I think this would be perfect for dry skin types but I can’t use this without blotting it or setting it with powder. It makes me look shiny/greasy without powder, but once I do set it, it leaves behind a really pretty, luminous finish.
Overall, I enjoy this moisturizer but wish they offered this in multiple shades so I dont have to play around with the tint. The shiny finish might also absorb better in dryer skin types as oppsed to oily. I’ll probably start reaching for this more often when I start Tret!
