The world of retinol and retinoids can be confusing. Where to begin and what strength to start. How often. To buffer or not to buffer. But these ingredients are the best we can get when it comes to anti aging and preventing breakouts. I’ve been vocal before about my use of prescription .05% tretinoin most nights. But I’ve been looking for a while for something to use on the nights I want to use retinol but my skin can’t handle my prescription strength. I get afraid to take too many nights off (anyone else get like this? 😂 I feel like I need it every night OR ELSE! 🙈) This search hasn’t been as easy as you’d think. Several weeks ago I was kindly sent this new launch from Herbal Dynamics Beauty. 💛 Bio Solutions Retinoid and Gogi Berry Retexturizing Serum 💛 Contains granactive retinoid (cosmetic grade ester of all-trans retinoic acid), carrot seed oil to help combat any dryness, goji berry as an antioxidant, allantoin for skin soothing, hyaluronic acid for hydration, and turmeric. It has a rich yellow color and a thin watery consistency in a dropper bottle. On the nights I want to use this I mix about 3 drops with my moisturizer and apply (to dry skin). I haven’t had any issues with dryness or irritation and it performs exactly as I hoped! I can see this being a great starter retinol for beginners, or for people like me who want something to use when their skin needs a break from the stronger stuff. Though don’t get me wrong, this packs a punch on its own as well. If you’re a beginner I’d start with 3-4 nights a week. This is something I feel like I can definitely recommend.
