Retinoid Night Cream
This Pratista Retinoid Night Cream is the first retinoid product in the form of a cream that I have tried. The retinoid used is HPR (Hydroxypinacolone retinoate), a type of retinoid that is claimed to be gentler, with minimal irritation and side effects. HPR also doesn't need to be converted (while retinol needs to be converted twice to be active), so if you're looking for a retinoid product that's gentle but feels the effect, this HPR could be the right choice.
The texture is yellowish cream, easy to spread and very light when applied to the face. This cream is easy to absorb into the skin and it feels a little occlusive. There is a slight chemical smell typical of retinoids that is still felt. The finish of this cream is velvety, not matte or make your face muddy. I really like moisturizers with a finish like this.
This moisturizer is recommended to be used once every 2-3 days, so the contents of 10 grams can last up to 1-2 months. I've been trying this product for about a month. At first when I tried this product, I didn't use a retinol serum or other exfoliator, after a week I tried to incorporate it into my night routine as usual, and it didn't cause any irritation. Used after exfoliating using Glycolic acid 7% is still safe. When used together with 1% retinol serum, the effect is really good on my skin. Most importantly, optimal hydration. The most significant effect I felt was, my hyperpigmentation or acne scars around my jaw became calmer and faded, my face became brighter because this cream also contains 4% Niacinamide.
It doesn't contain spatula/applicator. I wish they would come with a bigger size.
