Bulgarian Rose Satin Cream
Claims/key ingredients:
• contains Bulgarian rose water known for hydration, soothing and anti-ageing qualities, shea butter and other moisturizing agents to lock in the moisture
• has Vitamin B3 to brighten the skin and also for anti-ageing benefits
• includes some mild exfoliators to help cell regeneration and brighten dull skin
My Experience:
First, I am impressed with its creamy, gorgeous, almost whipped butter like texture and the prettiest shade of pink, ever. I love the double glass crystal-like jar packaging which feels very lush and pleasing to my eyes. I find this cream unique because it cannot be categorised typically into either a heavy or a lightweight cream in the traditional sense. It is not too heavy but is definitely richer than the richest gel creams so it’s hard to exactly define the consistency. You will be surprised at how lightweight and non-greasy it feels on the skin and yet it sits looking so deliciously thick in the jar.
It does have a natural rose scent which disappears after a while and also has got a very subtle tone-up effect. I did not experience any irritation but sensitive skin, as with any product, should be careful.
I wanted to use it in my night routine but the cream is heavy for hot summer nights (the weather is mostly hot and humid where i live) and probably not as moisturizing as I want my night cream to be in the harsh winter (my skin becomes very dry). So, the best time to use it, in my opinion, is Autumn when the sun is less angry and the days are mild and cool. That is when my skin needs more nourishment and barrier support too. All in all, I think it is a decent moisturizer for dry to combo skin types.
(Note: this review was written and posted in July on my instagram account. Since the weather is cooler now, i am currently using this product and find it comfortable.)
Fragrance! Not too strong but it might bother some people. I understand It’s also a matter of preference though.
