Azelaic Acid 10% Serum with Niacinamide
Not satisfied with what little I observed from using niacinamide, I turned to this underrated active ingredient —that targets skin redness, swelling, pigmentation, and improving skin tone with less risk of irritation—called Azelaic Acid.
✅ Benefits. Azelaic acid in general has
• Anti-inflammatory effects on the skin, reducing redness and soreness in acne-prone skin which also benefits a skin condition called rosacea
• Reduces keratin production, a protein that can block pores and lead to acne
• Evens out pigmentation, improves skin tone
• Helps fade some of the marks left behind after acne
• Removes clumps on the skin and removes all kinds of bacteria that cause acne
🧴 Key Ingredients. Azelaic acid, niacinamide (Vitamin B3), panthenol (Vitamin B5), hyaluronic acid
💧Form & Fragrance. A light, moisturizing serum free from paraben, gluten, formaldehyde, sulfate, artificial color, alcohol, and fragrance. Spreading it on skin somehow gives the feeling of gliding thin layer of oil on skin, although the literature says it’s also free from mineral oils.
🙋🏽 Experience. For context, my skin does not exactly suffer from redness or swelling, only occasional zits but not many at the same time. But that is sure to leave a dark mark when it dries up. My skin condition might not warrant prescription azelaic acid from the doctor so I bought this OTC serum to try. I have been using Cos de Baha’s AZ nightly for about three months now. I put 2 drops each on face and neck after cleansing with my skin slightly damp, followed by moisturizer. Sometimes when I’m sweaty after bath that this slightly stings which I learned to adjust to and apply only on when my skin settles dry. Result-wise, it’s not easily noticeable I would say but gradually, it does the job. Might repurchase.
💲 Price. ₱487 ($8.70) for 30mL bottle from Cos de Baha official store in Shopee PH. An afforable Korean product option compared to known US brands offering the same active that’s about five to seven times this price.
(Not a sponsored post. Bought it from my personal pocket.)
