Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum
Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum:
“Designed for use on the entire eye area, including eyelids, this 360° eye serum firms skin, reduces wrinkles, and smooths the eyelid."
Dr. Dennis Gross really exists, he’s a dermatologist who has a practice on the very chic 5th Avenue in New York City, right across from Central Park. His product range is quite classic in the “medical/derm brand” fashion, with formulas based on proven and effective ingredients (exfoliating acids, hyaluronic acid, retinol…).
My Thoughts:
The kind of brand I usually like, except for one thing here: the prices. The products are definitely not cheap, but I need all the help I can get on my eye contour! Getting older by the minute, my needs in terms of my eye contour have indeed evolved quite a bit over the last few years.
I have deep dark circles, and I know that no cosmetic will change that, but I also have a distinct difference in pigmentation (my eye contour is not the same colour as the rest of my face) and I’m starting to see more and more fine lines.
I’ve already explained it many times here, I never expect miracles from a cosmetic. And I know for a fact, that an eye contour product will have limited results on my eye area. But hey, I’m not going to refuse the possibility of a fresher, smoother eye contour, no matter how minimal!
In the morning, I already used one of my many favorite eye creams. So I decided I would use this more concentrated formula for the evening!
So I chose the Dr Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum because its formula seemed perfect to target my needs!
Judge for yourself:
- some antioxidant ferulic acid
- some anti-aging retinol
- an anti-aging peptide, Tetrapeptide-21
- several antioxidant ingredients: Centella Asiatica, Quercetin (a polyphenol), Ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q10), green tea…
- some licorice root, with an arbutin derivative for a brightening effect
- some moisturizing ingredients: low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, glycerin, urea, phospholipids…
- some soothing ingredients: Centella Asiatica, panthenol, willow extract…
This formula leaves nothing to chance!
It works as much for anti-aging prevention with the many anti-oxidants as it does for the treatment of wrinkles and loss of firmness with retinol and the Tetrapeptide-21 peptide.
Add to that the moisturizing and brightening ingredients and you have an eye contour product that ticks all of my boxes!
I love the fact that it’s a serum; I feel like it’s more concentrated and absorb’s better than a cream!!
I use it with a moisturizer on top of it because it’s not very nourishing (that’s not the point here, it’s more a treatment than a moisturizer) but it’s still comfortable. It’s just that at night, I like the feeling that I’m adding additional nourishment in my routine!
And most of all, I find that it helps to reduce my fine lines!! I find that since I’ve been using it, my contour is less wrinkled. I see it especially when I use make-up. My concealer stays in place better and doesn’t crease in my fine lines since they are less pronounced than before!
For those who wonder about its irritating aspect because of the retinol it contains: on me, it never caused the slightest irritation. I was able to use it every night right away without any trouble! I guess the concentration is quite minimal (if I had to guess, I would say between 0.1 and 0.3% max).
In short, its only downside is its price. It’s a 15ml bottle and it retails for around $70. Ouch!
Usually, a bottle lasts me about 6 months by using it once a day. No need to use tons of it. A grain of rice is enough for both eyes.
In short, I know that this is a product that I will continue to repurchase regularly. well, at least, when my finances allow me to!
Method I Used:
I use the Ferulic + Retinol Triple Correction Eye Serum mainly in the evening but it can be used in the morning and/or evening.
I take about the amount of a grain of rice of product that I apply just before using my face serums, and before my evening eye contour moisturizer. I massage it very gently, without rubbing, to spread it around the eye contour (underneath, and also on the upper eyelid). I then finish by applying some light pressure with my fingertips to be sure that the product is absorbed into the skin.
Pros:
- the formula loaded with skincare ingredients for the eye contour area
- the light, non-greasy texture, ideal as a serum
- the triple action of firmness, anti-wrinkle and radiance on my dark circles, everything I'm looking for in an eye contour treatment
- the smoothing effect on my eye area
Cons:
- the price, it's really not cheap
Packaging:
A tinted brown glass bottle with a pump.
Fragrance:
Fragrance-free.
Texture:
A silky and non greasy gel, that absorbs quite quickly and leaves the skin comfortable.
For:
– mature skin
– dehydrated skin
– pigmented dark circles
Concerns:
– very tinted and pigmented dark circles
– saggy eye contour area
– wrinkles, fine lines around the eye area
– dehydration of the eye contour area
Key Ingredients:
A formula loaded with skincare ingredients! Like for example:

– anti-aging RETINOL
– an anti-aging peptide, the TERRAPEPTIDE-21
– several other anti-oxidant ingredients: CENTELLA ASIATICA, QUERCETIN(a polyphenol), UBIQUINONE(Coenzyme Q10), GREEN TEA

– some moisturizing ingredients: low molecular weight HYALURONIC ACID, GLYCERIN, UREA, PHOSPHOLIPIDS
