UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50 / PA+++
I saw this SPF has really good reviews before I decided to purchase this. This was back when I don’t do research on the ingredients (unfortunately this was not that long ago) This is to remind myself that you have to get to know your skin type and understand what works and what to avoid.
First of all, this sunscreen smells really good, like Peach Soju. That’s probably a good red flag indicator. No one should be applying fruity alcohol to the delicate face … The texture is thin and milky. It is very easy to apply and spread on the face. There is no white cast since this is a chemical SPF. In fact it is a very lightweight and “cooling” sunscreen. So far this sounds pretty good right?
This SPF is extremely drying. The denatured alcohol (what makes this cooling and thin), fragrance, citrus extract, silicons, preservatives and probably others have combined to attack my sensitive face. Once I washed my face, I was left with a parched and redden face. Itchy and sad. Patchy and angry. Immediately I have pushed this to the darkest corner of my stash waiting to be repurposed as arms / legs SPF on a field day or something.
Perhaps this is a sunscreen that may be good for very oily and resilient skin types. Sensitive skin folks like me should steer clear of this one.
