Detailed product breakdown…
100% Artemisia Princeps Extract
This type of mugwort is Japanese mugwort otherwise known as yomogi in Japanese or ssuk in Korean. It has a great anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects as well being known for helping atopic dermatitis and/or people with dry skin. Tony Moly’s mugwort is grown on Gangwha Island in Korean and is harvested in May, then aged for 3 years. Fermentation takes an extract to the next level and pretty much multiplies its effectiveness. Being that this is aged for 3 years you can rest assured that you are getting a very potent and strong single extract essence that will be giving your skin ALL the benefits this extract can provide. Being that it takes a long time to produce it is one of the more pricey mugwort extract essences and happens to be the most expensive one that I have purchased. But, if you can get this one on sale it is a stellar product to have at all times to use during pretty much any skin condition because of its protective and restorative properties.
This is a “single extract essence,” but it is not completely 100% mugwort extract in that it is put in a solvent that has preservatives to help the product last and remain safe for use on our skin. This goes for most single extract products for our benefit. 😊
Price: $25-$30 average
pH: 5.5-6
Texture: Very very thin
Fragrance free, but has a very strong mugwort scent. 😬 I would say the natural scent is very earthly and tea like. I personally love it!
Final Conclusion: After completing the full bottle I feel that this has brought me sooo many skin benefits mainly in the calming category and is a definite Holy Grail product aside the Missha Artemisia Essence. Between them both, I will always have one in my skincare arsenal.
P.S. in the pictures the bottle is empty. 🙃
If anything I woukd say that it’s a little pricey, but overall I think it’s worth it.
