It contains multiple essential oils, including citrus oils. They are fine for many people to use, but of all skincare ingredients, they are some of the most likely to cause irritation or an allergic reaction. The product has bergamot oil, orange peel oil, and peppermint oil. Some of these are relatively high on the ingredient list as well. While I didn't actually develop a reaction to these while using this product, I do feel a bit nervous about continuing to use it, in case I end up developing a reaction down the road. I felt ok to use up the product, but won't repurchase. The cleanser has a minty scent, and it feels cooling on the skin. This is probably from the peppermint essential oil. I get that it's supposed to feel nice, but personally I find it uncomfortable. It's just too much for me. A bit overwhelming. It's also a bit drying to my skin, but to be fair, that's to be expected with any salicylic acid cleanser. When you have both dry skin and acne, it's a constant balancing act trying to fight off the acne while not drying out the skin. I found that I was able to use this every other night without drying out my skin too much.
