Science behind Aging Skin 🌱

So I haven’t been a content creator for too long, but I have noticed that smaller creators than me already receive PR and gifted products from brands (not necessarily from picky but in general) and I still haven’t been approached/contacted nor have I won any giveaway. This got me wondering. 🤔

Do you think it could do anything with the country you are located in? I am an expat in a tiny European country where population is less than 1 million. 

I post content approx. 3-4x a week and try to always put good quality reviews with nice visuals.

As a little extra, including some 𝙥𝙧𝙤 𝙩𝙞𝙥𝙨:

✨Unless you have extra oily skin, try washing your face with water in the morning instead of using cleanser.
✨In case you are just starting using retinol or you have sensitive skin, try putting retinol after moisturizer in order to avoid irritation.
✨Apply skincare products (except chemical exfoliants and retinol) on damp skin in order to boost the penetration.
✨Don't forget to apply the products on your neck (be careful chemical exfoliants and strong retinol).
✨Try to avoid using a chemical exfoliant and retinol at the same time. You can either spread them out in morning and night routine or use separately on different days.
✨Be careful not to overexfoliate your skin, stick to 3x a week (4x max if your skin tolerates it).

CONS
👎Takes longer time to remove eye makeup comparing to cleansing oil.
👎Feels like there’s a very light oil&#47;balm film on top of skin after removing. Definitely need to follow-up with a water-base cleanser.

☝️I had no issues getting the product out of the tube as I live in a warm country and the balm wasn’t as difficult to squeeze out. On contrary, it was super easy.

I definitely recommend this to double cleansing newbies as it’s easy to use and is very affordable. ✨
I quite enjoyed using this so curious to try out other balms to compare with.

Are you a cleansing oil or cleansing balm type of person? 🤔 To be honest, this was my first cleansing balm, so let me share my experience!

Let’s break it down, shall we?

PROS
👍Has oat. The benefits of that I’ve already gone through in my last review, but in a nutshell - soothes and strengthen skin barrier.
👍Has sunflower seed oil. A great emollient that has a calming effect on skin and has ability to help replenish and strengthen skin.
👍Very affordable. For 150 ml I paid 12 eur (got it on @cultbeauty)
👍Cruelty-free.
👍Devolves make-up (maybe a bit less the eye make up) quite well.

CONS
🤷🏼‍♀️ None. I had a fantastic experience and have nothing negative to say. I did try to find out whether this product was cruelty-free or not but got mixed information.

What is your HOLY GRAIL moisturizer? I am about to share mine! 🤩

I’ve seen the Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat Gel moisturizer being recommended by several dermatologists and decided to give it a try. Let me tell you - it was love at first sight! 🤍

My rating: 100&#47;10 ✨

Ok, so let’s see why I’m soon obsessed with this moisturizer:

PROS
👍Has prebiotic oat - strengthens and soothes skin barrier. It can help soothe the effects of several skin conditions (eczema-prone and symptoms of psoriasis).
👍Has centella extract - antioxidant and humectant, soothes compromised skin.
👍Has feverfew - calms irritated skin.
👍Main humectant glycerin instead of hyaluronic acid (my own personal preference).
👍Feels lightweight yet very moisturizing.
👍Non-comedogenic (meaning won’t clog your pores).
👍Makes your skin feel sooo smooth and hydrated.
👍Absorbs into skin very quickly.
👍Suitable for all skin types. Even more if you have sensitive skin.
👍Free of fragrance, alcohol and dyes.

CONS
👎You 𝙃𝘼𝙑𝙀 to follow the instructions since it&#39;s so easy to misuse.
👎It was too strong for me in the summertime since my skin is usually more sensitive then. So be extra careful and do a patch test if you have sensitive skin.
👎A friend of mine who used it 2x a week instead of 1x as I told her had a breakout. This product is a perfect example of less is more. Otherwise, you risk making your skin way worse than it was before.
👎There is a fragrance to it which I wasn’t a fan of.
👎Due to the product being overly hyped up on social media, I see a bunch of people use this wrong. &#39;&#39;bUt oN cLIp cLoP tHEy dID iT lIkE tHiS&#39;&#39;. No. Follow the instructions on the box, not some random video online.

So overall, when used correctly the product can be amazing and show fantastic results, however due to it being so strong and so easily misused I have mixed feelings about it. I have stopped recommending this to inexperienced users, but if you know your way around chemical exfoliants and don&#39;t have sensitive skin - absolutely try it out. I also recommend putting on some calming cream&#47;mask after it to soothe your skin. 🌸

PROS
👍It&#39;s very affordable and brings chemical peeling to the comfort of your home.
👍Shows results from first use.
👍Does what it says.
👍Brightens, evens out skin texture, makes your skin as smooth as baby&#39;s bottom.
👍Faded away some of my post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
👍Helped my teenage brother with acne and can potentially help those with acne scars.

- Why do brands like to put Vitamin C in a dropper bottle?!? It does not protect the product from the air and increases risk of the product oxidizing into the dark yellow/brownish dehydroascorbic acid.

Considering the results and the price point - definitely be recommend this product for those who're looking for a vitamin C serum, though it may be a bit strong for beginners. I believe it does what it claims, and with consistent and long-term use you will start seeing results - at least that's what happened in my case.

👎 Scent waaaay too strong for me
👎 I could smell the scent for quite a long while so gave me a minor headache
👎 The size is not convenient at all. i’d rather it be smaller so you can throw it in your purse or bag (the brand did inform me they sell various sizes on their website though).

So the product is definitely not bad, but it’s not for me. Those who love the scent of roses will absolutely adore this.

✨Very Subjective Rating: 5&#47;10

As a person who has very tricky relationship with fragrance, I already expected this may not be for me, but thought I would give it a shot. However, my gut feeling didn’t deceive me - the scent was way too strong for me and gave me a bit of a headache. That being said, I gave it to my friend, who really liked it. 🙌

Let’s look into the details.
Pros:
👍 Smell reminds of vintage rose perfume you’d usually smell on your grandma, which I thought was cute.
👍 Refreshing, especially during hot summer.
👍 May feel relaxing if you enjoy the scent.
