So, when I was younger I always heard/read that sunscreen (chemical) needs to be applied directly onto the skin in order to work properly, because it needs to penetrate the skin/react with the skin.
Recently everywhere it's suggested to use a moisturizer underneath for optimal hydration. So I assumed it was old information that was proven wrong.
Until a pharmacist told me the same thing again.
So, what is the right way to do it?
I really want to use a light moisturizer under my sunscreen, so recommendations for sunscreens that supposedly don't need a moisturizer underneath are not what I am looking for in this discussion.

Unfortunately it drys out my skin, even with a good amount of moisturizer underneath, my skin feels dry, tight and not comfortable.

Not greasy, doesn&#39;t irritate my skin or stingy eyes.

Actually felt like it wasn&#39;t cleaning my skin properly, I felt some film on my skin after washing it off, and after using it for a few days, my pores looked a bit clogged. Although my skin is dry, I don&#39;t like it, and I don&#39;t think it&#39;s good for oily skin.

It is a very mild foaming cleanser, doesn&#39;t strip my skin at all.
