How do you manage your skincare routine in a hot summer? Daily temperature is rising to 38 degrees Celsius at my place and I'm feeling too hot. It's too hot for me to use any sunscreen or moisturizer as I sweat instantly after applying it. I have acne prone skin and I find myself not being able to use products that calm my acne. I even need to cleanse twice a day for the sweat. Do you have any suggestions? 😅

Skincare in 38 degrees!

First of all, not all brands are like this, I have had a wonderful experience with many of them! 

In summer, Scinic did a giveaway on IG for their new cleansing foam. They had 10 winners and I was one of them. I filled the form they sent me with my name, my email and my address. 

After more than a month, they contacted me saying that they cannot ship my giveaway package because the product is out of stock and they will change it to a hydrating essence as a giveaway prize. I agreed.

Now after more than a month again they contacted me saying that they needed my name, email and address info again because they had some problem with address format in the form. And they also mentioned that they couldn't find my IG account mentioned for the giveaway (all the conversation was in DMs 😡). 

I patiently wrote back the IG account (the one I am messaging with), my email, my name and address knowing that it's personal information and it can be compromised. 

Now the following day I get a reply and they said that they didn't know that the IG account in the form is the same that I was using to communicate with them. I do not like to be gaslighted 😤

It's obvious that they don't want to send me the package but I want to know what do you think. And if anybody had a similar experience? 

It's the first time this happened to me and while I don't mind not getting the product, I do find the brand dishonest and untrustworthy.

Edit: I contacted Scinic again and they did help me! I received my package! Thank you everyone ❤️

Sus brands?!!!

It has been a while that I am noticing a lot of creators joining this app but also discussing about PR and opportunities from brands every day. I do think that Picky could create a PR or Creator topic in discussions that could be useful. A lot of these questions are redundant and repetitive as those for SPF or Acne questions. I kindly ask you to just search in discussions or select the topic in discussions if you have smth to say because at least 90% of the time somebody has already answered it. Picky stores this info for a reason so why not use it to our benefit!! 😉

Dear picky community...

I see often people review and talk about the type of finish a product, usually cream products, has. I have heard about many finishes and I am very confused about the difference between each of them. Some that I know about are: 
- Natural
- Satin
- Glowy
- Dewy
- Matte
And maybe more...
Can somebody please explain the difference with each of them? 😅

Benefits: Soothing and hydrating 

It is fragrance free and cooling for my skin. The essence soaked pads feel light and easily absorbing. Helped to calm down my skin and I prefer to use it at night. They are more convenient and easy to use than sheet masks for me. 

Not hydrating or moisturizing, only soothing. I only use it when my skin is irritated for immediate effects.

A light gel texture and feels cool on skin. It is fast absorbing and soothing when my skin is irritated. Has a matte finish.It is my first time using an aloe gel and I loved it! I recommend to layer this gel with other hydrating creams or moisturizers.

Too sticky and I hate the feeling when applying it with my hands. The scent is quite overwhelming. This is not an oil only treatment as the ingredient list shows other ingredients such dimethicone and fragrance. This product did not provide any nourishment or improve to my hair. For such an expensive product, this is not worth it.

Has a nice scent and feels nice on my hair. My curls do look a bit defined.

It does feel sticky on skin upon application but I don't mind it! (I layer it with a moisturizer!)

Claims: Brightening and clearing hyperpigmentation, Hydrating and Firming

The serum is lightweight, watery and fast absorbing. I didn't get any irritation and it pairs well with most of my other skincare products 😁 and feels hydrating! I started by using it 2-3 times a week but will gradually increase. I do like to use it in the morning as it feels light with my sunscreen on those hot summer days! 

It doesn't fit perfectly on my face but it's the same case with all the sheet masks I have tried. 

The sheet mask is soaked in a light serum that feels moisturizing and hydrating. I use it for more than 20 minutes and it gives me a glowy and dewy look! It also has a light scent.
