I am looking for an AM moisturizer with SPF that leaves a matte finish, doesn’t cost a fortune, and doesn’t make acne worse (extra credit if it has acne fighting properties). Plus, it needs to be able to be worn over or under makeup-if possible. 

I am also looking for a PM moisturizer that leaves a matte finish (or at least a natural, non-goopy feel), doesn’t cost a fortune, and doesn’t make acne worse/acne fighting. 

When it comes to moisturizers, I feel like I am striking out a lot. My face is resistant to absorbing stuff and can’t handle heavy moisturizers, so any moisturizer has to be lightweight (gel moisturizers would be ideal, even a serum moisturizer would be great). Heavy face creams = greasy mess on face. Even my so called drier cheeks seem normal. And I have someone touchy skin…lovely. And I have even had pilling issues in the past…ewww. 

I saw this option from Cetaphil which seems to check off my boxes-but is it actually good and doesn’t contribute to acne trouble?  Any other ideas? (In the 21st century, moisturizer shouldn’t leave your face an eww-yuck greasy mess. Especially for the morning.)

Would I be better off just skipping the PM moisturizer?  I’m not using heavy treatments like Accutane-so I don’t need heavy artillery moisturizer. Thoughts? Any suggestions?

Facial moisturizers (AM and PM)

I would love to find an eye cream that doesn’t have yellow/orange in it (it looks terrible against my super fair skin), doesn’t pill, and is sensitive skin friendly. Plus, not costing a fortune. Would be open to eye serum as well.

I don’t have massive dark circles or puffiness or wrinkles, but “my eyes, only more bright and fresh” would be great. Tend to suffer from allergy eyes due to allergies, so can be a bit red and puffy and tired looking from that. 

Any thoughts on these eye creams?

Is more meant for dry skin, but if you are using strong acne treatments, this could work.

 For me, I would apply the lotion at night so that way, it has all night to absorb into my skin and by morning, no issues with work clothes getting exposed to as much as a hint of lotion. Plus, like everything else, a little goes a long way to reduce ‘sticky risk’. 


 This made me a believer in lotion-no greasy finish, no fragrance, no excess moisturization that leads to slow absorption and greasiness, no glop. A yuck free lotion specifically made for normal to dry skin-it’s not easy to find lotions specifically for normal to dry skin. This was created with the help of dermatologists, so it follows science. Plus, the packaging is fashionable in any bathroom, whom-ever you are.

It doesn’t do anything for acne, because it’s not meant for acne or oiliness. Great for drier skins, but useless for mine! 

My body skin is normal to dry, while this product is more aimed for dry to very dry skin. It took a long time for it to absorb into my skin. Great product, but not helpful for me. I had to buy the normal to dry version. 

I love the gel cream factor and the fragrance free factor.
