Wow I was checking my inbox today and just realised I received an email saying I got picked to be one of the luck 100 for this I’m from lip balm! 

I find that most lip balms just aren’t enough for what I need and are either too greasy or not occlusive enough. I’m so excited to try this and give as best a review as I can to help others!

Can’t believe I got Picked!

Hey all,

Hope everyone is doing well amidst the covid chaos. 

I’m really interested to hear about what drives people in their skincare journey - the reason could be anything (good or bad).

For me, it’s understanding and applying the science and seeing the results for myself! It’s therapeutic for me and makes up a big part of my self care during the lockdowns that I experience here in New Zealand. Love watching and reading reviews for products, ingredients and the research that’s out there too.

What drives you in your skincare journey?

❌ a bit too gentle for my skin - superficial texture isn’t a focus&#47;issue for me 
❌ Used for a couple of months and didn’t notice much of a difference - maybe my skin didn’t need an AHA

✅ gentle formulation with a 4%&#47;4% combination of glycolic and lactic acid 
✅ non-fragranced with no EOs
✅ gentle surface exfoliation - those with sensitive and&#47;or dry skin may really like this 
✅ didn’t leave my skin dry - adequate humectant property

❌ not water resistant - might want to consider other SPFs for sports or when at the beach 
❌ I wish it came in a larger size/bottle to minimise on packaging and waste 
❌ newly opened product was not sealed by safety seal/foil - which I found odd and questions the integrity of the formula in specific worst case conditions 


I received this product for free from Picky and Dear, Klairs in exchange for my honest review.

I was so excited to get the chance to review Dear, Klairs’ new SPF after they pulled their last one which was a cult favourite. Here’s my short and sweet review 

✅ No fragrance or essential oils 
✅ Just as water gel-like as the original SPF - non-suffocating and has a moisturiser/slightly dewy finish - for reference, slightly lighter than Round Lab’s Birch SPF 
✅ Amazing new generation UV filters with great UVA and UVB protection 
✅ Slight green tint may help with evening redness/skin tone
✅ those with oily skins might be able to use this in place of a moisturiser 
✅ I will be looking to repurchase during sales 



- a bit pricey if you use often
- can leave a moderate shiny&#47;oily finish 
- hate how they recommend using it every day (which i don’t) but concerning as most people will turn to this as their first exfoliant given fbe reviews and HG status

- really effective and gets the job done 
- nice and concise ingredients list without fragrance or EO’s

❌ if you’re not careful with application it will pill up - i dont wear make up so not sure if it plays nicely under it 
❌ compared to some other SPFs this is quite pricey (~$30 NZD) 
❌ Theres an initial white cast which goes away after youve worked the product in, but then it begins to pill when it dries up.

✅ dries down matte and dry like it claims in the name 
✅ ingredients list suggest that its a hybrid sunscreen to some degree so you may be getting the best of both worlds
✅ convenient pump bottle with plastic cap

❌ whilst hydrating, for my skin, it was lacking that richness or emolliency that make up a large majority of sleeping packs out there. I tend to think of sleeping packs as more rich and occlusive moisturisers and this one deviates from that. After a few minutes, a majority of the product is absorbed, but it leaves a slightly tacky and sticky finish which some may not appreciate. To overcome this, I finished with a very light layer of facial oil which compensates for the perceived lack of emoliency and moisturising factors. 

I received this product for free from Picky and SKIN1004 in exchange for my honest review. I was super excited to try this one out as we’re just moving into our cold winter months here in Auckland NZ. 

✅ fragrance, alcohol and essential oil free - everyone, especially great for those with sensitive skin and allergies to those ingredients! Do keep in mind that there are a lot of plant extracts, none of which appear to be common
allergens 
✅ lightweight and watery gel texture especially for a sleeping pack which caught me by surprise. It glides on a spreads across the skin and leaves a very dewy and hydrated finish on my combination skin - did not feel like I was suffocating my skin. This would be a great option on those colder nights in spring or autumn 
✅  left my skin feeling hydrated in the morning - more on this in the negatives section below 
✅ for those who care about packaging - it’s super aesthetic and looks premium from the box to the bottle itself
