The Ordinary, a brand that is considered a staple by many skincare lovers is launching six new products. One is the Glucoside Foaming Cleanser and it'll be available for purchase on the 9th of December, if you sign up to The O.Lab waiting list. It will be available to the general public on the 9th of March 2023. The names of the five others haven't been revealed, although they posted a teaser photo.

I'm searching for a leave-on product (moisturizer, serum, toner, etc.) with ceramides and cholesterol high in the ingredient list. I want to improve my skin barrier so I'm looking to increase the amount of these two ingredients in my routine. Do you have any recommendations?

Leave-on Product With Ceramides and Cholesterol

This is a comment I made on the discussion "Best Lash serum recs!!!" by Mannna about the product "GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum."  I've made some additions and reposted it here because it may be helpful to people in search of a good lash serum, and though it is not a total analysis of the product, it at least provides a framework to base your research on.

In order to choose a good lash serum, it's important to know if it contains active ingredients and to research their safety by searching for them in publications of research articles like the Aesthetic Surgery Journal by Oxford University Press and government safety agencies like the FDA. Since lash serums are applied near the eye and may at times come in contact with it, it is also necessary to search for the ingredient on the website or database of a relevant opthamology organization like the American Academy of Opthamology. It might also be prudent to search for any lawsuits against the manufacturer.

GrandeLASH-MD Lash Enhancing Serum's active ingredient is a prostaglandin analogue (isopropyl cloprostenate) so side effects like orbital fat loss and discoloration are possible. "A 35-year-old female developed thin, wrinkled, darker skin, and periorbital hollowing after 10 months of treatment with Lash Boost (Rodan & Fields, San Francisco, CA), containing isopropyl cloprostenate, which reversed 6 months after discontinuation" (1). The FDA issued manufacturers of lash serums with isopropyl cloprostenate a warning letter in 2011, telling them that their product should be classified as a drug and that they failed to warn patients of side effects (4). Additionally, Grande Lash settled a class action lawsuit against them for $6.25M, in which the plaintiff claimed that GrandeLash did not properly disclose side effects (5,6).

IG GIVEAWAY: New Dr. Ceuracle Products!

Although this product is very easy to wash off, the application process is a bit messy. It would be nice if a small applicator was included to help.

As someone with combination oily skin, a clay mask is a staple part of my weekly skincare routine. I'm really impressed with this product because it's just as effective as my previous clay mask but it only takes a tenth of the time. It used to take me 20 minutes of clay mask wearing and about 10 more to completely wash it off but now it only takes 5 minutes total!

Also, this doesn't clog my drains since it turns into foam. I've dealt with clogged drains from other clay masks so I'm glad that not only is this clay mask to foam cleanser good for my skin, but it's also good for my home as well.

This essence is very good. I do not have any constructive criticism to offer concerning it, but I think it would be nice if Dr.Ceuracle explained more about cranbetinol on their website or even Instagram.

I love the color choice for this product, it's one of my favorite colors. It is a quality, sturdy glass bottle and it does not leak at all, which I find is often the case with essences and toners.

It has a smooth viscous texture, applies well and I am happy to say that the capsules do not remain on the skin, which is something that I was looking to see ever since I first saw the product. This has a natural finish, undetectable finish on the skin. After first applying it, it is slightly sticky for about 30 seconds. After that it is fine and does not interfere with anything you'd like to apply on top of it.

📈Function 5/5

This contains a lot of ingredients that are good for skin health such as beta-glucan, cica, reservatrol, ceramides squalane, etc. Although my sleep schedule has been all over the place as of late, this essence makes me look like my skin is glowing from within.

It has a gel-like creamy texture, and applies well. This cream has a natural, undetectable finish on the skin. It is smoothly applied over the Vegan Active Berry First Essence, the other product in the Vegan Active Berry Line. Sunscreen may be applied over it without pilling.

📈Function 5/5

This cream is very lightweight, which enables it to introduce humectants such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin and collagen, in a way that is suitable for dry and oily skin. I cannot attest to the lifting claims, as I only received it a few weeks ago.


I can't decide if I think this cream needs an inner seal lid or not. Some of the cream was on the inside of the lid when it first arrived, but the cream is rather thick and it stays in place when I shake it, especially since I've used it a bit. So it's not likely to move around, unless it's on a journey across the world. And it does close very tight.

If you are sensitive to fragrance, this product is definitely suitable for you. If you sniff the product there is a faint, clay-like smell, but you cannot smell it at all when you apply it. Personally I like the faint smell it has, I think it adds to the calming experience of putting it on at night.

When you apply it you cannot see it at all. Creams like this tend to make my T-zone area quite oily after a few hours, but this one is an exception.

This cream is full of ingredients that are key to skin health and appearance. It has humectants such as glycerin and hyaluronic acid, ceramides, fatty acids such as stearic acid and oleic acid, occlusives such as jojoba oil and shea butter, and peptides. 

✨️My Experience 5/5
This cream contains both guaiazulene which is derived from chamomile, and chamomile extract. I enjoy chamomile herbal tea in the evening, and this cream is like a relaxing, soothing cup of chamomile tea for the skin. Its light blue, periwinkle color is quite pretty and it's nice to know that it has a function. Using this cream I haven't been experiencing the redness and sensitivity that usually appears this time of year regardless of whether or not I step out.



I really enjoy this product, I do not have constructive criticism to offer.

This is a very light, thin essence. It is slightly oily at first, but it absorbsinto the skin rapidly, leaving a semi-matte natural finish.


✨️My Experience
This was my first time using a probiotic skincare product. I was not really sure how my skin would react, so I very gradually introduced it to my skin. I'm glad that I was able to test acquire this product, as its made such a difference on my face, neck, underarms, elbows, and knees. My face is more radiant overall and my forehead especially is much smoother. My neck and underarms are smoother and softer as well, and I have seen an improvement in the hyperpigmentation on my underarms, elbows, and knees in a shockingly short amout of time. I notice that the radiant effect is great when I first apply water to my face before the essence, likely due to the hyaluronic acid.
