I'm assuming that, like retinol, vitamin C is an ingredient I have to ease my skin onto by starting with a lower percentage. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

What Vitamin C serums do you recommend as a good starter?

These are the one I'm considering but if you know any better ones I'm all ears! 🙃

Vitamin C noob

I live in Canada and have figured out my perfect skincare routines for each season. However, I am from Jamaica and while I lived there, skincare wasn't something I cared about.

When I recently went back, I tried to match my routine to my Canadian summer routine but I got an awful rash around my mouth. (Attached photo) The only thing that cleared it up was when I quit all product use completely, including spf 😭. I'm thinking the buildup wasn't letting the sweat escape, plus the heat wouldn't help.

Now that I have returned to Canada my skin is paying for it. My skin is dry, stripping and breaking out. 

My idea is that's while I'm there, during the day, I just focus on cleansing and a moisturizing spf then using my other steps at night while I'm in air conditioning.

Please give me your ideas. 😩

Your Sunscreen Isn't Great

I order from local businesses that send many samples with my orders. I love it, HOWEVER, I always have the urge to use 1 every other day. If the sample had a full set of all steps, I always want to use them all in one routine. In return my skin is confused. I haven't had any awful irritation yet but I can tell my skin doesn't know how to respond.

I wanted to talk irritation caused by introducing a new product.

My skin isn't really sensitive so irritation to me looks like a few blind pimples in random places and it shows up within 24 hours of first use. I still haven't mastered the art of patience so the process of pausing use to find the problem product/ingredients is tedious and I can never do it right. 😩

What does irritation mean for you?

I got multiple blind pimples within a day. I continued use to see if it was just the change in product but it was irritation. The bumps kept coming and became big, red and painful. My skin just wasn&#39;t a match for this.

I could see the effects when it came to brightening my skin. It is a brilliant idea to have a mild, daily exfoliating product.

She is GREASY. Feels like lemon pledge. I got lazy and started to rub instead of pat so it clogged my pores, made my skin rough and dried out at one point. When I pat, it&#39;s fine but still slippery.

This gives my skin a nice tinted glow and slowly fading my hyperpigmentation.

I have a brown skin tone and this leaves a white cast but is minimal when smoothed out properly.

I work outside so I wanted to go for a physical sunscreen to avoid the wait after reapplication. It does its job! It&#39;s soothing so I&#39;ve recommended it to a friend with sensitive skin and she finds it doesn&#39;t irritate her problem areas.

Didn&#39;t really do anything for early stage&#47;blind pimples.

Every time I feel a  bump, I grab a pimple patch. Overnight the oils raise right to the surface and the pimple pops itself when I rinse. No redness, stinging or dark marks leftover. They don&#39;t peel off no matter how much I do with my face. I love the feeling when I go to pick and the patch tells me to beat it. 😭💛

I can&#39;t even remember when I&#39;m wearing one of these patches. No one sees and I don&#39;t feel it. Works exactly like the red patches to draw out the oils to the surface. By the end of my day, when I wash my face, the gunk just washed away too. I don&#39;t wear makeup but if you do, this patch should be well hidden. I&#39;m pleasantly surprised when I go to pick and I am reminded that I can&#39;t. 😭💛
