So, yesterday I found out that it isn’t normal for your hands to be itchy when you’re handling raw chicken. I’ve finally found the root cause of my recent eczema flare up!

This means that I have three hilariously unrelated skin allergies:
- Raw chicken
- Certain types of face paint
- Daz washing powder 

Eczema is so weird!

I was just wondering if anyone else had high maintenance skin like mine that gets sensitive at the weirdest things

I really want to try Azelaic acid products but I don’t know which one to go for. I’d love to hear what your personal favourites are 😊

Every so often, I come across an ingredient and I fall absolutely in love with it. Sometimes they are ingredients I end up looking out for forever (e.g. green tea, centella, ceramides, vit c derivatives etc.). My most recent one is mugwort!

I love the isntree mugwort ampoule and I’ve just ordered the I’m from mugwort mask and I’m so excited!!!!!

My main issue with this product stems from my sensitivity to it. 

My skin, in general, doesn’t react badly to more stable forms of Vitamin C, it usually only reacts to L-ascorbic acid, but while there was no strong irritation using this, it was definitely making my, what I think is mild rosacea, more red.

I purged from this product like nothing I’ve ever experienced before but this only lasted two weeks tops and can be expected from chemical exfoliants, although I’d never experienced it this intensely. I will attach a photo of the purging stage to my review.

I used this until my small bottle ran out (which lasted me about 5-6 weeks) and I didn’t notice any results really but that may be because I didn’t give it enough time so take that with a pinch of salt. I didn’t want to repurchase because of the way my skin was becoming slightly more red.

TLDR:
I imagine this would be great for those who haven’t had any issues with Vitamin C sensitising their skin in the past. I would also avoid if you have rosacea that is particularly reactive but that is just my opinion.

I’m conflicted about this product because I actually do think its a decent product, just not for my skin. 

Pros:
- Didn’t dry my skin out unlike some other chemical exfoliants I’ve tried, probably due to its good moisturising ingredients like panthenol and butylene glycol which are great for dry skin.
- It’s almost like a 2 in 1 product. You get the exfoliting benefits of Glycolic acid and the ‘anti-aging’ benefits of Ascorbyl Glucoside which is a good vitamin C alternative to L-ascorbic acid for those with sensitive skin.
- It also contains Niacinamide which I always love to see in a product for added blemish control 😊

I haven’t experienced any negatives so far

This product is great for my eczema prone dry skin. It keeps your skin moisturised throughout the day but doesn’t feel super thick and heavy. This is the first mosituriser I’ve been really happy with and it contains some really good ingredients like niacinamide to tackle other skin issues

My issue with this product is focused mainly on how it works on my skin type. I have very dry skin and although this made my skin soft, I didn’t feel like it added any moisture to my face at all. As I put it on, it would soothe my skin and make it feel hydrated. After use, my skin still felt fairly dry, no matter how many layers of product I applied. It supplied me with the level of hydration I’d want if I had oily skin, but for my dry skin, it supplies nowhere near enough.

Using this hasn’t resulted in any major changes to my skin but it has been a nice experience. I tried layering it and still didn’t notice any major changes. Personally, if you have dry skin, I would give this one a miss. If you have oily skin, absolutely go for it!

I wish I could give this product a 3.5 stars. I’m quite conflicted about it. On one hand, there are a lot of pros. I’d imagine this essence toner would be a dream for someone with slightly dehydrated oily skin. It provides some hydration without feeling greasy at all. The texture isn’t too liquidy so it doesnt run down your hands or face as soon as you apply it. It sinks nicely into the skin and calms the skin. It does seem to give my skin a gentle glow which I really like. It contains only 7 ingredients which is nice to see in a skincare product as sometimes simplicity can be better.

It also is good value for money. It is fairly inexpensive and after a month of using it day and night, I’m not even 1&#47;3 through the bottle. A little goes a long way.

This sunscreen smells INTENSELY of alcohol. Personally, I love the smell of alcohol, so it doesn’t bother me. I don’t notice the scent lingering on my skin either. If you are sensitive to alcohol, this is definitely not the product for you.

Some of the ingredients are listed on Picky as potentially detrimental to dry&#47;sensitive skin types but I think it depends on your skin, you should decide on a case to case basis. I have very dry, eczema-prone and very sensitive skin, and haven’t had any issues.

This sunscreen glides onto my face like water. It sinks into my skin very easily and doesn’t feel greasy like I’ve experienced with sime suncreams. 

It is very protective and easy to layer and reapply. Even though, according to Picky, it contains ingredients that are not suited to my dry&#47;sensitive skin type, I’ve never had any issues. My skin feels very moisturised after.

Unfortunately, this serum has too many harsh ingredients in it for my skin to handle. This made my skin go very red, however, I suspect this may be due to the hyaluronic acid in the product because I had too much hyluronic acid in my routine. I do have sensitive skin and i have since realised that my skin is bad at handling unstable forms of vitamin C like L-ascorbic acid, although this definitely was the worst reaction I’ve had to any L-ascorbic acid product I’ve tried.  The redness and irritation was temporary but my skin is dry, eczema-prone and sensitive so I do not want to risk it.

This may be a good serum for someone who is less sensitive to hyluronic acid and L-ascorbic acid than I am. My sister uses this and has never had a problem with it so I cant entirely blame the product for the reaction my skin had.
