Hey everyone! I've been looking for the most suitable sunscreen for my oily and sensitive skin and I've tried several brands, and I'm quite satisfied with them (Eucerin, Altruist, Skin Aqua) but I really want to have a sunscreen stick that I'd use when I'll reapply SPF. 

I'm currently looking at Cetaphil, Cerave and La Roche-Posay.

What other exceptional actives do you use that are at par with the multitasker that is Azelaic acid? 

I am addressing hyperpigmentation from acne and sometimes my skin just can't tolerate 15% AzA. I'm on tretinoin every night but I would like to add another active to my routine.

Any recommendations, please? 💕

I loved their Cica Regen Vegan Sun so this one immediately caught my eye. You know when an spf is so good, 50 ml doesn't last for long but this one comes in a 100 ml tube so it is a friggin steal and great for sharing. Plus, it's waterproof, perfect for family outings this summer. It's filters are Uvinul T 150, Uvinul A Plus, Mexoryl XL, and Tinosorb M. This also has cica and bamboo extracts to soothe and repair the skin. It has a light lotion texture that feels moisturizing to touch. It sets completely and has a natural finish, perfect for any occasion and for all skin types. Most importantly, I didn't feel any discomfort especially around my eyes when using this. A must-try, 5-star spf that is worth your buck.

Just a word of caution for those with sensitive skin, it stings my face for while when my skin barrier is compromised.

You've probably read rave reviews about this sunscreen and I totally agree.

This comes in a slim tube with minimalist design and eco-friendly packaging.

It's a lightweight cream gel that glides smoothly and absorbs quickly on face. It has the perfect thickness and consistency—you'll feel that adequate coverage but no heavy or tacky feeling. It also has fresh scent that is such a moodsetter.

There's a slight tone up at first but goes away immediately. It neither pills nor stings the eyes. It has a dewy finish. My skin looks moist and supple even in the afternoon. 

This is a topnotch sunscreen. Great ingredients, excellent quality and formulation, and now one of my favorites.

I like its plumping effect on my face. I use it on wet face then immediately seal with a moisturizer. It instantly hydrates the skin when used properly. Though I don't prefer a separate hyaluronic acid product because it's usually already in moisturizers and sunscreens, I didn't experience unfavorable effects so it's definitely worth a try. A good addition in a routine for those who enjoy layering hydrating products on the face. 


It's not as affordable as other brands in the PH. There are more cost-effective Japanese sunscreens in the market. 😉

It has a gel cream texture which is thick enough as a standalone skincare in the morning but still lightweight. Some may not need to moisturize as it contains moisturizing ingredients like dimethicone and sodium hyaluronate. I used to use Aveeno daily moisturizer before this but it makes it hard to layer this sunscreen because it pills. It has the perfect consistency as it is not too thick nor too runny. Has the highest PA rating (++++) and high SPF (50). A top-tier favorite!

Can't say anything bad about this product. 

My skin feels so soft but not tacky whenever I use it. I thought my oily skin would breakout as it could be too occlusive, since it is recommended for dry skin but to my surprise, my skin loved it. It also has a matte finish like the daily moisturizer (green variant). Its ingredients are simple and straightforward -- just skin-loving ingredients like glycerin, dimethicone, petrolatum and oat. Whenever I have dry patches on the sides of my nose, this works like a charm. Plus, it is affordable. Can't emphasize more how much I love it. I gotta say, you can't go wrong with Aveeno.
