Shirojyun Perfect Gel
There are many versions of this, I'm reviewing the one with Arbutin.
• This is very hydrating and moisturising, leaves my skin feeling plump and hydrated after
• Gel-like texture can be used on oily skin for night time as a moisturiser / sleeping mask, and usually when layered with other hydrating products, this lasts me through the night
• Quite easy to spread and forms a film over skin that prevents TEWL
• Despite the film formed which some might feel is heavy, this did not make me breakout at all
• Saw subtle brightening effects and lightening of dark spots possibly from the arbutin, after continuous use
• The finish on skin is very sticky and tacky. Hence I only use this at night time
• May not be sufficiently hydrating/moisturising for drier skin types or less humid areas, since like most hada labo products, this relies on hyaluronic acids
• Packaging tub is extremely ugly and feels very cheap/poor quality. Don't like having to use a separate spatula either
• Not exactly the cheapest product on the market
