It was the first chemical exfoliant that I had used back in 2018. Being a newbie I followed the instructions on the bottle to use it once or twice daily and within the first week my skin barrier was soo damaged to the point where even the most gentle products were stinging. My skin was so dry, red and had new breakouts from the irritation. I had to stop using this so I could heal my barrier and did further research on this product. Once I was satisfied with my research I once again gave the BHA a chance. I used it after toner before moisturiser once a week for 2 weeks, then increased to twice a week for a month. This way it did not irrtate me. I saw a difference in my pores, they we cleaner, and in 2 months of use I saw less and less breakouts. For me using this 2 times a week at night is enough exfoliation. At the end of 2020 I started using Tretinoin which is drying it's self, so I had to cut out this BHA and I introduced an AHA after a couple of months. I still use this product when my pores need a deep clean maybe once a week but only on my T- Zone. This will further dehydrate skin if you have dry skin. If I get off Tretinoin I will definitely reintroduce the BHA as the main exfoliant. ⭐ Overall Score ⭐ 4.5/5
