Mary&May - august.serenade review for Houttuynia Cordata + Tea Tree Cleansing Foam

💚 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗧 ▪️A cleanser for pore and sensitive care with combination of two powerhouse ingredients - Houttuynia Cordata extract and Tea Tree extract. HC helps to clean pores and relieves skin trouble while TT is a natural antibacterial disinfectant and helps to heal wounds faster. ▪️Key ingredients - 40.7% Korean Houttuynia Cordata extract and 6.8% Australian Tea Tree extract, Hyaluronic Acid ▪️Complete skin irritation test. PR from @Luna.beauty_my, normal price around RM50+ (USD13+). 🔻 𝗠𝗬 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 ▪️𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩 You just need a pea size to lather into a thick creamy foam. Love at the first scent for this one, however upon first lather on my face, I realised the scent is similar to mothball (we called it ‘ubat gegat’), I don’t know what my take on the scent after that realisation (lol) but somehow, I can bear using it time after time, so it’s not that bad? This leaves that squeaky clean, but there is no irritation on my skin. At first, I was afraid it will make my existing redness on my cheek to become more red or irritated, but that wasn’t the case with this one. For testing purposes, I waited until my face dry to check if my skin feel tight. There was a slight tightness around my forehead but the rest is still ok. What surprised me was when I touch my cheek, it was so soft like cottony soft, no more that squeaky feel. That change everything about my view on this cleanser. ▪️𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤.. This cleanser is not that harsh compared to other cleansers that I’ve tried. I will continue to use it, not as a daily cleanser but when I want that deep pore cleanser routine and will follow up with a hydrating toner.
