Niacinamide 10% + Zinc
This serum is one of the first serums I have used from The Minimalist brand and I absolutely love it.
āØ Texture: Translucent in colour because the base is Aloe Vera juice instead of water and has the characteristic soapy texture of Aloe Vera juice.
āØ Consistency: Very lightweight and runny.
Things I like about it:
š It has controlled my sebum secretion in my T zone. I have been using this serum for a year now and my T zone does feel less oily
š I had few dark spots and 1-2 acne marks which were very old and those appear to have faded. Some are completely gone and some have faded considerably that they are not visible unless you really look for them.
š It did brighten my skin. Earlier, my skin used to look dull if I didn't apply any product, but now, even my bare face has a nice healthy glow.
š There are other serums from The Minimalist that had caused me purging or irritation but with this, I did not face any such thing whatsoever.
š A little bit goes a long way. I use only 2-3 drops at a time. I use this in both AM and PM but still, 30ml bottle lasts me 2-3 months. So, it's quite budget friendly.
š Since, the base is Aloe Vera, it also helps to soothe my skin, whenever it feels irritated.
š It is fragrance free, so, people who are allergic to fragrance can definitely give this a try.
š Sometimes, there are pimples, which you feel, are growing inside and you can feel it with your fingers but nothing is visible on the surface. Those are very very painful and used to take days to heal (at least for me). But, regular application of this serum heals them in a day or two and doesn't let those pimples to actually pop up on my skin. So, this avoids scarring.
All in all, it's a pretty good serum with such a gentle and effective formulation and I would keep using this.
There is one minor issue which I don't like about this product.
ā Although it regulates sebum, whenever I apply it on my face, my face looks shiny and feels very oily. Personally, I like the shine but not the oily feeling. I know that's a common issue with niacinamide serums but if it can be resolved, this will be the perfect serum.
ā Some people are allergic to Aloe Vera, so, this product is not for them.
Patch test is definitely recommended. š
