This is a really interesting mask and I’ve never used one like it before! This is an exfoliating and warming clay mask and scrub. It has jojoba beads in it, that when the mask is rubbed onto the face, mix with the rest of the ingredients and produce a warming sensation. The jojoba beads are very gentle and burst once you start massaging the mask onto your face, so it’s not a harsh physical scrub. Also, it smells like pumpkin spice, which was honestly delightful. So it has really nice warm and cozy vibes and is perfect for fall and winter. Now here’s my warning: those of you who have rosacea and heat is one of your triggers (like me), this needs to be used sparingly and not left on the face for a long period of time. Because of the warming sensation, it did flair up my rosacea when I used it. However, I kept it on probably a little longer than I should have. The directions say to leave on for 5-15 minites and I left it on for about 10 minutes. So next time I will be leaving it on for less time and seeing if that helps. And the flair subsided once I applied a cold pack to my cheeks for a bit of time, so the mask wasn’t enough to cause a really bad and lasting flair up, it was temporary for me. This mask also contains salicylic acid, kojic acid, niacinamide, retinyl palmitate, and willow bark extract so those with sensitive skin need to be aware of all of those ingredients. My skin actually tolerates all of those ingredients well, so this did not cause any irritation for me. It’s definitely a product to use only on exfoliation nights though! And while it does have some ingredients that may be too harsh for some, it also contains some great calming ingredients like oat, aloe, chamomile, and licorice root. The mask is easy to rinse off and left my skin feeling very soft and supple.
