I ususally apply it over night when I feel that a pimple might come up or when I picked at a pimple. It reduces inflammation quite well but it is difficult to wash off. To get rid of the white spot you really need to rub on the skin which is counter productive. It also crumbles very much so if you want to put it on during the day be aware of that.
