🌱 Brand Story: Information on Mixsoon is a little hard to obtain as they don’t seem to have an official website available in English. Their promotional materials are mostly images which don’t run through a translator very well. My information here is rough translations, which may include inaccuracies! 🌱 Claims: Alcohol-free, Paraben-free, Silicone-free, Sulfate-free, Allergen-free, Fragrance-free, Pregnancy-friendly, Eczema-Safe “A moisturising balm featuring 10,000 ppm of soy oil. A multi-functional product that helps with skin concerns like wrinkles and dull skin without leaving a sticky residue.” 🌱 Key Ingredients: The claims boast about having a high concentration of soybean oil, but the first ingredient listed is sunflower seed oil. This is still a good ingredient! Might be a mistranslation. I can’t find soy oil anywhere on the ingredients list! 🌱 Sunflower seed oil, Macadamia nut oil, and shea butter provide rich moisture for skin. 🌱 Mixsoon also includes their signature fermented ingredients from fruit compounds broken down with lactobacillus. 🌱 Texture: If you’ve never used a moisturising face stick before, think of it like a giant lip balm you use all over your face. They are balmy, a little bit oily, and glide over the skin. Cold temperatures may make the formula hard to get started. 🌱 Scent: None 🌱 Price: $38.50CA for 11.5mL or $3.34/mL 🌱 Application: I have rather cool skin, especially in winter. So it can take a moment for the balm to warm up and glide. This stick is definitely more oily than waxy, and is designed to dissolve and sink into skin as opposed to staying on top of it like a thick lip mask. It is slightly buildable. If you keep working it onto your skin, you can get a good protective layer that will help against icy winter winds. Because it melts into an oil, this stick does give some shine to the skin if you apply a very thick layer. This can be avoided if you massage it in with your finger tips. 🌱 Other uses: Anywhere you need moisture, really. Lips, eye area, decolletage, eczema patches, etc. It’s a convenient multi-balm. 🌱 Every day: Yes, and it is designed for travel. Those with dry or dehydrated skin will enjoy targeted moisture whenever and wherever you need it. 🌱 Notes: If your skin is naturally cool like mine, you can warm up the stick on a pulse point like your wrist or neck to get it started. I appreciate when a product is truly scent-free and does not include any fragrances or essential oils. Mixsoon has done very well with this so far. 🌱 Packaging: Comes in what seems to be the standard balm-stick tube; a palm-sized plastic tube with a lift-off cap and twist-up base. It is roughly the size of a craft glue stick in North America. 🌱 Accessibility: Although the tube has a velvet-matte finish, I like caps to have texture bumps to help with grip. The cap does not require excessive strength to remove, and the base twists up carefully. 🌱 Sustainability: This product could be refilled if refills were made available. The cap and base can be recycled. 🌱 Overall: This is a good product, even if they advertise it as having a high amount of soy oil when there seems to be none?
