The foil retains heat and prevents evaporation allowing the maximum amount of serum to hydrate the skin. The middle layer is elastic allowing the masks to adhere to the skin better. The third is a cellulose fiber that delivers the ingredients more efficiently. I loved these eye masks. They were not too sloppy and did not slide down my face. My under eye area felt smooth and moisturized.
