Ascorbic Acid is a pure form of Vitamin C and it's a powerful antioxidant. It is also the most studied and it is proven that it reduces signs of ageing with consistent use. This formula has a thick gel texture, but it absorbs nicely. It is not very hydrating, so I would recommend using a hydrating product before or after. It does have drying alcohol and a strong fragrance. It comes in an opaque bottle with uv protective coating. Formula is light yellow in color and this is the natural color from ingredients. My experience: I have been using this serum for 6 weeks and I'm so pleased with the results. It fades dark spots and gives my skin a healthy glow. My skin can react badly to a high percentage of Vitamin C but I didn't have issues with this one. 12% of Ascorbic Acid might seem high, but this product is actually gentle and it's recommended for sensitive skin. It doesn't burn or sting my skin and it absorbs fast. It leaves my skin smooth, without making it oily or sticky. I love the addition of Salicylic Acid in this serum. My pores look smaller and cleaner. I couldn't find information about the percentage, but I assume it's lower than 0.5%. Overall, this is a nice Vitamin C product if you want to try a higher percentage of Vitamin C. My friend with dry, acne prone skin also loves it, so I think it will be good for all skin types.
