Tretinoin Cream, USP 0.025%
10 weeks on Tretinoin:
First, I am on a strict schedule with Tret to prevent any bad reactions. For the first 4 weeks, I only applied it once a week alternating between sandwiching with moisturizer and not sandwiching. I am up to week 10 now and I am at the point where I am using it 3x a week without sandwiching.
I did experience purging between week 4-8. My purging wasn’t the worst. I just have a bad habit of picking my skin.
After week 8, my skin has made significant improvements. I have way less texture and redness. While I still experience small breakouts, they go away pretty quickly and barely last 2 days. My skin has been glowing more and I have been using concealer way less to cover up my acne spots.
I can imagine after a few more weeks I will have much better results. So far, everything is good!
The purging stage is kind of inevitable. I also had to change my routine and which products I use with my tretinoin routine. It’s important to use a good moisturizer or else it will dry out your skin. It’s a pretty strict routine and schedule, but it’ll be worth it in the end.
