Liftactiv Vitamin C Serum
This is a VERY good vitamin c Serum!
L-Ascorbic Acid is a literally the DIVA of skin actives! Not only does it degrade extremely fast, but even when it's fresh, it's also pH dependant, which means that, in order to work effectively, it needs to be at a pH level of between 2.0 - 3.0.
Also, because of how quickly it can go bad, you typically wanna find one that's in an amber bottle, so as to block out the light, and you don't wanna take your time using it up because the longer you have it after it's open, the less effective it is.
There are, however, other forms of vitamin c that don't have these issues, however most of them aren't as effective at getting your skin to register them as a vitamin c.
All that said, when you do finally find a product that fills the long list of demands that come with l-Ascorbic Acid, your paying an arm and a leg!
Enter Vichy LiftActiv Brightening Skin Serum!
This stuff is at a perfect pH to be effective, it's formulated with 15% pure L-Ascorbic Acid, and it's in a light block bottle to preserve freshness!
And as far as the price goes, Vichy came up with a brilliant way to keep you from paying a ton of money, only to be forced to throw out 1/2 of it because it degraded before you could finish it!
They package it in small bottles so you have a chance to actually finish it! Which allows for the cost to be only $30! They call it a 10 day supply but honestly, I've been using this product for 2 years and it's always lasted me at least a month! And I'm not an "a little good a long way" type of person.... I'm definitely more of a "GO HARD OR GO HOME" type of girl.... So you do still get a good amount of of it, just not so much that your wasting money or losing potency!
This product is DEFINITELY severely underrated! Yes, the reviews are always great, but it doesn't get as much hype as I think it should!
It can leave a slight stickiness after applying, which some people might not be a fan of, but honestly I've never actually seen an effective vitamin C Serum that didn't do that! L-Ascorbic Acid is just a sticky substance! There's little companies can do about that! I actually LIKE the stickiness becauae that's how I know a product has a high enough percentage of vitamin c to work!
Basically, it's a very minor sacrifice that your just gonna have to deal with if you want all the MIND BLOWING benefits that can be attained from a good vitamin c! Also I should mention the fact that the stickiness only lasts for like 20 minutes tops! As soon as the serums fully absorbed into your skin, it's gone anyway!
