Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%
The Ordinary (@deciem ) Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2% really helped me fade my acne marks quicker. I've never used more than 5% Vitamin C & often it was just a derivative, so I was hesitant to use is at first, I thought it could be to strong, since with a high amount of a vitamin C, irritations can occur.
Luckily, it wasn't to strong & my skin tolerated it really well. The combination of Vitamin C & Alpha Arbutin really is a power duo. I loved using Alpha Arbutin for brightening before, mostly in Hadalabo Lotions & it works great on my skin. The two ingredients are suspended in Propanediol, which helps to moisturize, acts as a solvent & can help to increase effectiveness of preservatives.
I always like the short ingredient list, with #theordinary products, you pay for no fuss. This product is of course fragrance free, essential oil free & water free.
The texture is a slippery oil with is almost transparent. It has a funky smell & I needed to get used to. I can totally understand that some people need fragrances in the skincare, but I just want good results & I don't mind the smell. If I can put snail, placenta & other weird stuff on my face & can also stand the natural smell of products.
I use it in my am routine after toner & I give it a few minutes time to absorb into my skin before I apply my moisturizer. You just need 2-3 drops for the hole face.
When you are not sure if the product is to strong you can dilute it in your moisturizer & then build your way up to use it on it's own, thats what I did for the first week, till I was sure that my skin could handle it.
Normal & dry skin will love this.
The smell is quite strong & unique.
