Are there any skin care products in a bar form or that come in a recyclable package?  
It's hard to recycle plastic where I live, so I've been trying to research various products that have better packaging.
However, I haven't had any luck finding skin care products that are also good for your skin.

Products that are better for the Environment?

Thinking about your favorite skin care product, how did you first find it?  Did you read reviews in the Picky app, receive it as a gift, see it in store, or was there another reason you tried it?

How did you find your favorite brand?

I currently just use Dove soap at night to wash my face.  I'll wear an SPF moisturizer if I plan to be in the sun a while.  My skin doesn't really have any problems; it's just a little dull and starting to get drier with the winter months.

But between dealing with kids and no sleep (!) 😞, I just really haven't given any thought to a skincare routine.

What products would you recommend starting with?  How many do you use every day?  I'm not familiar with a lot of these newer brands, but I'm interested in reading more about it.

I really don't have any complaints, so that's why I think this is a holy grail product.

I received 🌲Pure'am Amino Acid Mild Cleanser🌲 for free from @go.picky and @pure.am_official in exchange for my honest review.

This mild cleanser 
🌲cleans, 
🌲controls oil, 
🌲exfoliates, 
🌲reduces inflammation, and 
🌲restores ph balance (a lot of benefits!).  

It contains tea tree and dandelion extracts.  The texture is a thick cream.  It has no added fragrance, but it does have a tea tree scent.  This product is most recommended for oily, combination, or sensitive skin types.

I only needed a pea size amount to rub in between my hands.  The cleanser formed a light, airy lather and was easy to wash my face with.  My skin felt clean and a little soft afterwards.  For summer months, I feel like I really don't need a moisturizer afterwards when using this.  It definitely lives up to the "mild" in its name, since my skin did not have any redness or tightness. 

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the results and how well it works.  I would say it's definitely one of the top cleansers I've used in the last year.

🧴This contains fragrance, which seems unnecessary.  I don't care for the scent, but it does seem to go away after a little bit.  Also, the pump does not dispense very much out at a time, but that could also be a plus to avoid wasting as much.  I think having a cream that doesn't leave a residue is worth dealing with these minor disadvantages though.

💫 I received Talitha Koum's🧴 HM+Barrier Bodycare Set🧴for free from @go.picky and @talithakoum_official in exchange for my honest review.

 🧴The HM+Barrier Body Balm contains shea butter and natural oils, including jojoba seed oil, evening primrose oil, and olive fruit oil.  Like the body cleanser, it also comes in a 10.14 oz. container with a pump for easy distribution.  The texture is a white cream, just like most other lotions.  It is made in the USA, a big plus in my opinion.

🧴I was very impressed with how fast it absorbed into my skin.  There was no residue at all.  After just one application, my skin felt noticably softer.  I can't ever find lotion with both of these qualities, so I feel like this is a good product to try with those benefits.

I have to use two pumps to get enough for my face.  

It's easy to rub on my face.  I'm able to rinse it off fast, with no residue left behind.  My skin feels clean with no redness.  I appreciate that it's unscented.

It may not be moisturizing enough for some people. Also, it has a large opening on the bottle, so it's easy to get too much out.  But I think it's worth a try if you are looking for a basic toner.

From Torriden for the toner: "A weakly acidic moisturizing soothing toner which provides moisture to skin with low-molecular hyaluronic acid. It soothes and improves skin texture makes the skin smoother with Allantoin."

 I used a cotton pad to apply the toner.  My face felt a little tight, which went away in less than a minute when the toner completely dried.  I could see how this would be better to use in the summer with excess oil on your face.  I think it would be too drying in the winter.  You definitely need to apply a serum and moisturizer afterwards.

 It is fragrance free, and I did not have any redness.

The liquid is pretty thin.  It's a little hard to get the drops on your face and trying not to spill any of it.  There's just a little bit of a learning curve when using it.

 I was concerned about the red color at first, since I didn't want a product with artificial coloring added.  But the ingredients show the color is from beets, tomato, and various red fruit extracts.  So, I'm perfectly fine with that.  When I applied it to my face, I did feel a little bit of the skin tingling, but it wasn't bad.  Rinsing it off was easy, and my skin did feel noticably smoother afterwards.  I do like that you only use it once a week; it's not a very time consuming step in your skincare routine, but provides a good benefit.
