I also asked this on my Instagram account. Do you use apps to track your current skincare products and their expiration dates and PAOs? I’m guilty of having too many open products ATM and I want to be responsible by tracking them. Is there a specific app you enjoy and could recommend?

What app do you use to track your skincare products and their expirations/PAOs?

I started exploring skincare as a hobby because I love trying out new stuff but my sensitive / reactive skin is punishing me for it. I’ve taken it back to basics now because my skin is itchy, breaking out, and very sensitized at the moment.

This makes me envy people with resilient skin because they can try an array of products and have a low risk of irritation. 

Is there still a way my sensitive skin can become resilient? Does it happen eventually when I get “used” to trying out a lot of products? Are there ingredients or methods I can try or do to achieve resilient skin?

5 months into adapalene, my acne-prone skin has become manageable with a few occasional bumps here and there (yay!) but post-acne skin leaves new issues: scars. Currently, I have brown&#47;dark spots or PIH and red spots or PIE. I also experience dryness in some areas and my cheek area has become more sensitive. 

I was excited to try this because of its well-acclaimed ingredients that target hyperpigmentation and irritated skin. 

Usage: AM before sunscreen and PM before adapalene. 

Pros: 
- It comes with a pump packaging for easy dispensing 
- Unscented! Reducing the risks of irritation from essential oils and fragrance
- Medium to thick consistency but not runny
- Gives an instant glow to the skin
- No sticky feeling

Usage: I used the serum both in the AM and PM and the cream in the PM only. 

Verdict: I noticed less bumps on my face the whole time I’ve used this and my skin has become less oily. The redness has lessened and some scars definitely faded. After 2 weeks of using both this and the centella recovery cream, I’m thinking of keeping only the serum. Overall, I loved how Purito formulated such products with a whole bunch of powerful ingredients. The serum, especially, is a multi-use product that targets 2 or more issues at the same time — best for incorporating an effective solution while keeping your routine simple!

Did not calm my acne. Doesn’t feel hydrating at all. Adding more product just feels weird. If I add too much product, it would feel like sitting on top my face and would not absorb well.

Cooling and soothing texture. Easily absorbed by the skin.

- For the first few nights, I felt stinging on the sensitive areas of my face (cheek areas)
- I don’t think it’s moisturizing enough, it couldn’t soothe my dry areas
- I wake up looking very oily in the morning

- Cream type formula but absorbs like a gel, very “soft” and “velvety” feeling
- Lightweight, may be best for oily skin
- Skin feels a bit hydrated 
- Gentle enough for damaged skin barriers

I tried this along with the unscented serum and after 2 weeks of using both, I’m thinking of keeping only the serum. Overall, I loved how Purito formulated such products with a whole bunch of powerful ingredients. However, I would like a more moisturizing cream and my current moisturizer is doing its job very well for me to switch to this one.

This product is supposed to be soothing but I didn’t notice its calming effect for my acne, maybe I need to use the product longer for this. Also, it’s a slow-worker product for hyperpigmentation. Don’t expect immediate results. 

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: 🔳 Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Tone Brightening Capsule Ampoule 🔳 (Phew! That’s a long name.)

Notable Ingredients:
- Niacinamide
- Tranexamic Acid
- Ethyl Ascorbic Acid (more stable Vitamin C derivative)
- Centella Asiatica
- MadeWhite (brightening ingredient from Madecassoside)

I’ve been using this brightening product for almost 3 weeks. It should be noted that brightening products take time to show results. In fact, you can think it’s not working until you compare before and after photos (see last photo). I can say this has done its purpose without irritating my sensitive skin but it’s a slow worker (which I don’t mind because I don’t think I’ll be running out of it soon, this bottle is 100mL!). There are interesting tiny capsules in the bottle that melt immediately upon contact with the skin and are not at all exfoliating or harsh. They even add a ✨ spark ✨to your skincare game. On top of that, this is also a hydrating ampoule so you may skip your other hydrating serums (what a multi-talented queen! 👑).

Overall, this hydrating ampoule is a great cocktail of ingredients targeting dark spots and discoloration, and is great for all skin types too. I also appreciate how it uses a more stable Vitamin C derivative so I don’t have to keep the bottle in the fridge to prolong its shelf life. 

Might irritate your skin if you are sensitive to the ingredient list but I have sensitive skin and it did not react badly to this at all.

Effective spot treatment. I saw this in one of Korea’s top actresses’ skincare routine and I just had to try it when she said she has been using this for years. 

I get occasional acne, a few bumps here and there, and I try to control it with retinoids but sometimes my skin just needs a little more. 

I tried this on a huge pimple and it has flattened it overnight. The inflammation is just gone. With a few more night of using this, I think I can fastrack the healing of my pimple.  It’s an effective dupe for the Mario Badescu spot treatment. I’ll keep using this for my blemishes along with my adapalene. Surprisingly, this did not irritate my skin or dry it out.
