I’m so excited to receive my Halloween Box! I’m most excited about the Rovectin Cleanser and the Jumiso Vitamin Serum. The most apprehensive one is the Commonlabs Vitamin E Microneedle Spot Cream 😆  They were so kind to add in a Chocopie too! So cute.

I’m still thinking about how or where to slot these products into my current routine. I’m planning to do an individual review for all the products so I have to try them out for a couple of weeks before doing so.

Do any of you lovely people have any experiences with these products? If yes, how did they work for you?

My Halloween Box finally arrived!

Hey beautiful people! I recently just ran out of my Cosrx Snail Peptide Eye Cream and was looking for suggestions on what other eye creams to use. I’m currently surviving on a sample tube of Dr.Jart Ceramidin Eye Cream so I really need to get a replacement soon 😂

I don’t really have eye bags, but I do have slightly discernible dark circles as well as small milia bumps and fine lines on the undereyes. The Cosrx one worked great in terms of hydration and reducing the fine lines a bit but I was hoping if you guys have recommendations for other maybe better/more effective eye creams?

Also, do you use a different eye cream for day and night? I thought of getting a lightweight gel for day and a more nourishing cream for night. Let me know and thanks in advance! ❤️

Eye Cream Recommendations Please ✨

After waiting for 3 weeks in both anxiety and excitement, it’s here!! I think I scared the deliveryman a little with my screams of joy 😂 

I feel like Skin1004 is creeping up my list of favourite brands. I’ve tried only the Sleeping Pack from this range and it was so good. It reminds me very much of Huxley but like it’s cooler, younger cousin. Also, I’ve been looking to try out a moisture mist and after seeing that it’s a brand new product included in the bundle, I had no choice but to get it 🤷🏽‍♀️

Packaging is super aesthetic, with the white and pastel blues, water and clouds, 10/10. Can’t wait to try these out! Do any of your have any experiences with these products? Do share!

Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Bundle Arrived!

Hey lovely people! 

I’m trying to grow out my hair (it’s currently a little past my shoulder length) and it’s taking forever to grow. The bottom half of my hair is bleached, therefore super dry and brittle. The top half isn’t doing too good either, there are a ton of flyaways and breakage and I collect a bunch of hair every time I shower 😆

My hair is thick and mostly straight, and my haircare routine is simple (shampoo, conditioner every other day, mask weekly and I also apply leave-in conditioner) but it’s not improving. Products I use are a mix of Moist Diane and Mise en Scene, which are okay but not good enough. I’ve had Olaplex recommended to me but its so expensive 😅 So I’m hoping you guys can recommend me products or tips on hair routine, especially with bleached or coloured hair! TYIA 💜

I received these from Picky and The Potions for free in exchange for my honest review.

This was the first giveaway I won on Picky so I was so excited for these. It’s also my first time using anything from The Potions. Each 20ml ampoule/serum comes in a glass dropper bottle (reminiscent of The Ordinary, but the packaging looks and feels more premium than TO). 

The Potions as a brand has a minimal skincare concept which I like, and each product is formulated such that it’s easy to identify and understand. I feel like 20ml is quite little, which can be a good or bad thing. I’ve incorporated these into my routine for a week so here are my thoughts:

💦 Hyaluronic Acid Ampoule:

This HA ampoule is clear, slightly thick and viscous. There was no fragrance that I could smell. I applied this after dampening my skin with toner both day and night. It absorbed almost immediately into the skin, leaving it soft and so smooth. After a couple of days using this, I found that layering this between a toner and mist was the way to go to maximise the hydrating effect. This serum helped with hydrating the drier patches I have on my cheeks and jaw area, and also helped with oil control on my T-Zone. I found that throughout the day I was less oily, more glowy. I previously used The Ordinary HA, and I prefer this one as it helped with oil balance more.

❤️ Peptide Ampoule:

This one is my fave out of the three. It’s more lightweight and has more slip than the HA, and is cooling and refreshing when applied. The ampoule has a pale yellow tint, and there is no discernible fragrance. The texture is so spreadable that half the pipette amount was enough to cover my face and neck. I use this after HA for my night routine, and it absorbs like a dream. Immediately after application, skin feels plump and bouncy(hello, mochi skin). In the morning my skin looks healthy, hydrated and well-rested. I’ve been looking for a good lightweight peptide serum to add to my routine, and if there’s one product that I will purchase out of the three that I’ve received, it will be this one. I feel that using this regularly in the long run would benefit my skin more and I would be able to determine if it works for anti-aging purposes.

🍃 Jojoba Oil Serum:

Let me preface by saying that I’m not generally a fan of facial oils. I previously tried TO Rosehip Oil and the congestion my skin underwent kind of turned me away from facial oils. Also I didn’t really find a need to incorporate oils into my routine. However, I did read up on the benefits of jojoba oil (its the closest oil in nature to the sebum that our skin produces, therefore it helps regulate sebum production. It also has anti-inflammatory benefits. According to Incidecoder it’s not even an oil, its a wax ester which translates to super-stability, and its semi-occlusive so it stays on top of skin as a protective layer but also penetrates skin to hydrate from within) and needless to say, I was ready to be proven wrong. The oil serum itself is very thin and light, almost watery in consistency and pale yellow. It has a slight earthy scent which goes away after application. I used a few drops at the end of my night routine and after application, it did leave a greasy, albeit thin layer on my skin(not unpleasant, but not too comfortable either). Honestly, I didn’t think my skin looked any different in the morning as compared to the nights that I didn’t apply this. Perhaps it’s too early to tell, but my feelings are mixed on this one at the moment.

Does anyone have good experiences with Jojoba Oil or any other facial oils? If yes, please share how they’ve benefitted you! I’d love to know 😉

The Potions Deep Hydration Trio Review

Perhaps it’s too early to tell, but I did not notice any evident brightening in my skin, neither did it help to fade the dark spots I have. I also noticed my skin going back to being oily halfway through the day, so if you have oily skin you might want to take note of that. A few drops is enough, too much of this serum and it might leave a slight tacky feeling on the skin.

Key Ingredients & Benefits:
✨ Kakadu Plum Extract (contains 500 times more Vitamin C than blueberries and provides great antioxidant benefits)
✨ Ethyl Ascorbyl Ether (one of the most stable derivative of ascorbic acid and works against sun damage, hyperpigmentation and dark spots)
✨ Niacinamide (a fave ingredient of mine and works excellently to control my skin’s sebum production while minimizing pore appearance)
✨ Panthenol (a humectant that attracts and holds moisture in the skin)
✨ Aquatide (retains moisture deep within the skin and has antioxidative properties)

Packaging & Product Texture:
💦 Comes in a 55ml opaque glass bottle with a pipette applicator
💦 Serum is a cloudy, pale-yellow runny gel with a slight viscous texture
💦 Absorbs fairly quickly into the skin after patting in with fingers

Thoughts:
💓 I applied this serum twice a day, after toner (balancing toner in the day, hydrating toner at night) for about a week
💓 After absorption my skin felt nourished and very hydrated
💓 Can feel my skin being plumped up after using the serum for a few days

Its important to note that this product is best applied on damp skin as it absorbs really fast so you need that layer of moisture for it to draw into the skin. I find that I need to sandwich this between two layers of toner to maximise its effects. But otherwise, it works well and I’ve had no adverse reaction to the product.

Packaging:
The product came in a frosted glass bottle with a dropper. Its nice that the bottle has a stopper in it too. The dropper works great, I usually find that 3-4 drops is enough for my face and neck.

Texture:
The ampoule itself is clear, slight viscuous and fragrance-free. I thought it would feel tacky but I was pleasantly surprised. I applied it on skin that was still damp from toner and it absorbed so quickly. 

Thoughts:
After a couple of days usage I notice my skin feeling plump and smoother. After 2 weeks, I noticed improvements in a couple of dry patches on my cheeks. This was my first time incorporating pure HA into my routine, and I find that it does help to bump up the moisture level in my skin. Isit an absolute necessity? Perhaps if you have dry or dehydrated skin, or if you’re looking for something that specifically helps to attract and retain moisture, then this is worth a try. I wouldn’t necessarily repurchase this as I prefer HA to be an ingredient in multi-tasking products rather than an ingredient on its own as I usually prefer to streamline my daily routines.

Nothing bad at all to say about this!! Love this so much I already got another bottle to stock up.

💦 Product comes in a 200ml frosted plastic bottle which feels sturdy and quite luxe
💦 Clear, unscented “thick water” texture, feels very similar to the dear,klairs daily supplementary toner
💦 Sinks into the skin immediately and instantly softens the skin without feeling too heavy
💦 Preps skin perfectly for the rest of my routine, also works well in both my day and night routines
💕 I absolutely love this toner and how it makes my skin feel after applying; soft, smooth and plump without feeling too heavy
💕 Honestly the ingredients make for a pretty power-packed product, enough to be used on its own in multiple layers in place of essences/ampoules so if you’re looking to streamline your routine this would be worth considering (I personally still use targetted serums like Vitamin C and retinol to supplement my routine)
💕 It’s also pretty affordable and good value at 200ml (it’s going for SGD$14.90 on Shopee!)
💕 Personally, this is more hydrating and has more benefits than my other daily hydrating toners (for example Torriden Dive-in Toner and Skin1004 Hyalu-Cica Toner) so it’s safe to say I’ll be repurchasing this

⚠️ One thing to note is that it has bergamot oil in it, which adds fragrance AND can be potentially irritating to sensitive skin. It didn’t break me out but if you’re sensitive to essential oils then you might want to be careful!

💦 Has a herbal scent which isn’t too strong and quite pleasant for me personally (the scent comes from the bergamot oil in the formulation)
💦 Leaves skin feeling soft and hydrated
💕 I’ve used this toner way back when I just started out using Korean skincare, and I forgot how much I liked this
💕 It’s soothing, hydrating and leaves my skin very soft
💕 I honestly did not know that this can be used to remove makeup, so I tried. It removed my base makeup and eyeshadow well enough but it didn’t remove any waterproof makeup so I’ll stick to my oil/balm cleansers
💕 As a toner though, this is great. Calms the skin down, good for day or night usage and helps with controlling oil and improving overall skin tone

💦 Lightweight, pale yellow watery gel formula that has a very faint herbal scent
💦 Absorbs quickly, leaves skin slightly sticky at first but gives a nice glow
💦 Quite nourishing and hydrating on my oily skin despite its lightweight texture
💕 Honestly haven’t used this long enough to determine if it’s effective at lightening dark spots
💕 I will say that using this in combination with the toner gives my skin an amazing hydration boost that’s not too heavy and helps with some texture/drier patches on my face
💕 After it has fully absorbed it leaves my skin looking healthy, glowy and well-hydrated
💕 The serum has an impressive list of ingredients and is free from essential oils unlike the toner so I’ll continue using this to see if it helps to lighten any dark spots and/or improve skin tone
💕 Although Acwell is quite an underrated brand (it has been around for quite some time though) and isn’t hyped up alot on socmed these days, I feel like using these has piqued my interest to check out what else the brand has to offer (I saw that they have calming, hydrating and anti-aging lines, and this brightening line also has an essence mist and eye cream that sounds interesting)
