Azelaic Acid is my favourite ingredient to address stubborn post-acne marks which take time to fade away. I am prescribed with azelaic acid cream (20%) daily & I’ve studied about it that I get so confident to use it day & night. However, using it is quite an effort since azelaic acid is a powder so it's grainy on the skin when used with other products. And the 15% azelaic gel PILLS! Fortunately, I discovered a derivative that suits my skin. 

Potassium azeloyl diglycinate (or azeloglycine), a new water-soluble derivative of azelaic acid, is a combination of azelaic acid, glycerine, & potassium hydroxide. It has many same benefits of pure azelaic acid like brightening & as an antioxidant. Thanks to the presence of glycerine, it possesses a moisturizing effect on the skin. 

In recent studies, azeloglycine was used to examine the treatment of symptoms of rosacea & melasma. All 4 studies concluded that no local reaction were reported & the anti-inflammatory & moisturizing effects of azeleoglycine makes it a good multi-functional ingredient to help skin issues paired with other ingredients. It can normalize & lessen excess oil in the skin, help with skin issues associated with it such as clogged pores, breakouts, etc.

EXPERIENCE
I’ve been using REVIVE since June & it’s incorporated into my daily skincare routine now. It helps lighten my post-acne marks & my acne to heal faster. The gel is hydrating & fast absorbing, leaving my skin supple & moisturized (from allantoin & cica). Since it’s a gel, it’s easier to use it day & night without worrying about pilling or the powdery/dusty feel I get from the azelaic cream I used to have. I never experienced irritation considering I use retinoids every night! This product is true to its words.

I highly recommend REVIVE for oily, acne-prone skin. 

Sometimes, in a very humid day, this may cause oilyness.

Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream 

I received these products for free from Picky and Skin1004 in exchange for my honest review. 

@skin1004official ‘s Centella line will always be my favorite set from their selections, and I could say this for having tried almost every product in this line and selected products from other collections. I’m glad to share with you my experience with their cream. 

This glycerin-based soothing cream that has three actual lipid components of the epidermis layer to help repair the skin barrier is more like a gel than a cream. It has 72% cica extract, different leaf and root extract, and 4 ceramides to help achieve its soothing and moisturizing claim. This golden gel is quite light and, even with oily skin, I enjoy applying this in my morning routine. A sure hit!

There's nothing negative about this product but sometimes people tend to prefer lighter or heavier cleansing oils.

After a long day of face-to-face classes wearing and reapplying mineral sunscreen and make up, a go-to cleansing oil is the first one I want to put on my face when I got home. This cleansing oil is moderately thick which easily emulsifies and removes products and dirt on our faces

Actually, the name is too LONNNNNNGGGG. I hope they get a better branding.

Rovectin Skin Essential Barrier Repair Aqua Concentrate is a skin-brightening moisturizer that deeply penetrates the skin to deliver intense hydration to the layers underneath the surface. 

Formulated with 8 different types of hyaluronic acid for hydration-locking. The moisturizer also has niacinamide and Nelumbo Necufira flower extract which are full of antioxidants and brightening factors. 

This glycerin-based cream has a slightly light cream consistency which really suits well with my night routine. A great way to finish my retinoid night as this hugs all the moisture and active ingredients from my other products. The best thing is it doesn't cause any irritation as Rovectin products are all formulated to be hypoallergenic and are suitable for sensitive skin. 

I don’t see any effects within the two weeks of using it. Maybe in long-term use, I would notice it. This is my first time using cleansing water but the instruction confused me. I don’t find it very effective to remove my tinted sunscreen or regular sunscreen. It’s not it, to be honest.

I am so fortunate to receive these products from Acwell, a K-beauty brand that uses traditional dermatology cosmetics to give the “fundamental” skin-health solution. One of their best-selling lines is the Licorice line.

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) is a valuable traditional medicine in Asia and is widely reported to have antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. In a meta-analysis article by Yang et al., root licorice compounds were identified and shown to demonstrate in vitro anti-inflammatory effects.
These products are my first skincare products with licorice root extract as the main ingredient. I was fascinated to read about the benefits of this ingredient. That’s why I did not hesitate to use this Acwell Licorice set when I received it.
 
Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner
This brown color toner is a light facial cleansing water that contains 10% licorice root water and an amino acid complex to cleanse skin without irritating it. I do double cleansing daily with cleansing oil or balms but do not use cleansing water. I applied it to a cotton pad, wiped my face, and rinsed it with a gentle cleanser just to be sure.
