When I was at my teen years, my mom and my aunts would prevent me and my cousins from using makeup, specifically lip products because they believe that lipsticks will darken the color of our lips. Is there any truth behind this?

Should you still wear a sunscreen underneath makeup products that have spf? Same with tinted suncreens and other kinds of hybrid suncreens, do they do the job and can you use them as a replacement for suncreens?

Hybrid sunscreens

Honestly, at first I had some trouble blending it seamlessly on my face. I applied two fingers worth of product all directly on my face and the white cast was prominent. But trying it again, I figured that I just need to apply thin layers (one finger worth of product) at a time. Although because of my minor blending problem, I feel like people with deeper skin tones might also have the same issue. Depending on their preference, they may or may not like the tone-up effect that it may leave. Another thing to note is that there's a noticeable scent to it probably from the essential oil, which could be bothersome to some people. The price point is slightly above my budget but it's definitely worth the money based on its performance.

It has a creamy and lightweight consistency that is just right, not too watery and not too dewy, which makes it easy to blend. On lighter skin tones, it appears with minimal to no white cast. When it dries down, it isn't too matte nor too dewy, making it great for all skin types. On my skin, the finish feels more like a semi-dewy finish but it isn't sticky at all and it doesn't make my face too oily throughout the day. The texture is also moisturizing which I like because I get to skip my moisturizer when I feel like doing a quick and simple routine. What I also like about this product is that compared to other mineral sunscreens that I've tried where my face usually itches a bit, I haven't noticed my face get itchy so far, which is a great plus! Lastly, the packaging is just simple and straightforward but is really efficient and easy to use.

From what I've noticed, it's not super absorbent. It visibly absorbed the pus from my acne but I'd have to use another patch again for the same acne because one patch isn't enough to suck out all the fluid.

The patches come with two sizes, 18 pieces of 10mm and 30 pieces of 12mm. I'd say the price point is quite fair because the quantity of patches per pack is a lot. Also, I like how it's easily available online. As for the performance, it does the job quite well and sucks out the pus from my active acne. It adheres nicely on the skin and stays on overnight, although I haven't tested yet if this would budge easily if you're actively sweating. Still, I like how weightless it feels and how it appears unnoticeable on the skin. The packaging was nice; it has an easy tear packaging which is very easy to use.

I wouldn't say it's something bad but I expected it to have a "milky" white translucent consistency based on its rice milk name. It's at the mid to high range price point and honestly above my budget but because of its performance, I would definitely save money for it or would buy it if it's on sale. Also, it's not widely avaible at the local market in my country yet, but it is available online through shopee.

The ingredients are really simple but it really does feel hydrating and moisturizing. If you're looking for a hydrating toner, this is it. No fany actives needed. I'm really picky when it comes to toners but this one definitely earned a place on my holy grail toners. It's very mild and gentle. I really enjoy using it in my routine. It's watery but has some body to it like a serum, which still absorbs easily on the skin. The finish is just right for my oily skin. It won't give you a dewy glass skin, but it gives a radiant glow from within look. It's fragrance-free but I can pick up some mild rice milk scent to it, which some people might not appreciate, but I personally like it. It smells fresh and relaxing to me. And who wouldn't like that it's vegan and how they considered it to have sustainable packaging? Overall a great product. Chef's kiss.

Not widely available at the local market in my country yet, but it is available online through shopee. It's at the mid to high range price point, honestly above my budget but I would definitely repurchase it if it was on sale.

The name doesn't lie, it really is a moisturizing cream. I like how it performs and feels on my skin. The ingredients are really straightforward and simple but very effective. It has a creamy consistency but it feels light enough. It's easily blendable and absorbs very fast on the skin. I can use it both for day and night. It has a semi-dewy finish to it when first applied but it dries down to a natural finish, which doesn't make my skin oil up throughout the day. It doesn't feel tacky or sticky. It feels just right on my oily skin but I'm not really sure if it's moisturizing enough for dry skin types. It is fragrance-free which is great for sensitive skin types. Another plus is that it's vegan and they considered it to have sustainable packaging.

It's great for lip prep but not so much as an overnight lip treatment. It isn't hydrating enough. You would have to reapply this throughout the day.

It's one of the most lightweight lip oils that I've tried. It feels juicy on the lips but not at all sticky. It has a pink tint to it which just looks natural on the lips and almost appears clear. I also like that it has a tint because the bottle still looks presentable even when the product gets cloudy over time. I usually prefer unscented products but I didn't mind the sweet watermelon scent.
