Maybe I’m somewhat suspicious by nature, but this struck me as weird. I’m shopping around for the best place to buy Missha M Magic BB Cushion and saw the price is all over the place, from $21 on the Missha site down to $5 on Stylevana. I’ve definitely wondered before about prices on Stylevana. I’ve only ordered from them once, a month ago, and it’s supposed to be delivered this Wednesday, so I already know it takes a really long time, but I’m wondering how they can charge so much less. Has anyone ever had authenticity or product quality issues with Stylevana? Why do you think they’re able to charge so much less?

Why does Stylevana cost so much less?

I’d never really given much thought to the cotton pads I use to apply some toners and exfoliation products so when got these on Amazon I wasn’t expecting anything out of the ordinary. These are a huge game changer and I had to share! I’m using literally 3 drops of toner and it absorbs and distributes so well it’s enough for my whole face. The pads are soft with no sharp edges and flexible enough to not bunch up or start to rip apart. The weave of the pads is smooth and there are no cotton fibers left behind. I’m pretty sure with free Prime shipping I paid maybe a dollar or two more than going to CVS and getting the kind you use to remove nail polish which really waste product compared to these. Maybe I’m just catching on late and everyone already leveled up to these but if you haven’t tried them and use cotton for any products, it’s so much better!

Anyone have recommendations for eyelash curlers that are small enough to use on the inner eye? Currently I use a standard Shu Uemura curler but nine times out of ten it doesn’t get my inner lashes. Thanks!

Lately it seems like every product I consider boasts Niacinamide but I’m wondering in general whether skincare actives have a “ceiling” where after a certain point more doesn’t actually do anything. I assume that I shouldn’t layer multiple products with actives that can cause sensitivity like acids and retinoids, but what about ceramides, peptides, etc? If it’s in my serum, does having it in my moisturizer actually do anything? Inquiring minds…

I got this lip balm using the Picky free shipping points trade-in and it arrived today. Just an FYI for anyone who doesn’t read Hangul (Korean script), the tube included with the lip balm is actual gochujang, a fermented bean paste with hot pepper. You should use it as a condiment on food, not apply it to your lips😂. The tube is entirely in Hangul except for where it says red pepper paste, which it also says on the lip balm so I figured it couldn’t hurt to let folks know. Enjoy!🌶️

Until recently I’ve always had extremely thick hair that sheds a lot. I haven’t noticed any less shedding but since I’m not using it all over the hair falling out could be from other areas. As you can see in the before and one month progress photos, there’s no major improvement yet, but I wasn’t expecting overnight results and I think I see a slight improvement.

After a bunch of crazy medical issues including brain surgery, I was left with scars on my scalp where hair won’t regrow and thinning hair generally along the hairline and part. My goal with this product is to strengthen existing hair especially surrounding the scars and simulate regrowth/thickness around my hairline and part. 

I like that this serum is applied to dry hair since I don’t wash my hair daily. There’s no greasiness and if I use it in the AM I just blow dry the damp sections dry again. I usually use it at night and I haven’t noticed any staining on the pillowcase, although I mainly use it in the front of my head. Using a full dropper or two a night, there’s enough for at least a few months. I can’t detect any scent in it.

I think these are great and found nothing negative.

I was very interested in trying Benton Guava 70 Skin Toner Face Mask Pads mostly because I hadn’t used this type of hybrid hydrating toner-sheet mask product before. Lucky for me, Guava 70 toner pads are packed with hydrating and calming ingredients, perfect for post-workouts when my skin gets so flushed and sensitive (seriously, sometimes even HA serums will sting!) 

I haven’t used a lot of pad products so maybe this is bog standard, but I really appreciated the packaging with the baby tweezers that snap into the underside of the lid. They were easy to manipulate and each separate pad lifted cleanly from the rest. 

While Jeju guava leaf extract is the main ingredient, it also contains kelp, calendula, yam root, green tea, mugwort, and houttuynia cordata. These pads are packed with antioxidants and ingredients that boast hydration and elasticity, and reduce irritation and sensitivity (including from overheating!) These are mildly acidic at approximately pH5 and even without storing them in the fridge they felt nicely cooling. I also really liked being able to spot treat and cut to fit the mask pads since sheet masks rarely fit me quite right. They kinda suctioned onto my face and stayed on which was great because I could do other things for 10 minutes while they nourished my skin. They have a ton of toner-essence but didn’t dip or get messy at all. First I swiped my face like you would with a hydrating toner and then I left them on as a mask, tapping them to help absorption. They felt light and cooling and my skin looked and felt really dewy afterwards. I’m excited to keep using Guava 70 pads now that it’s getting closer to summer and it’s heating up outside!

I went through a whole jar and didnt see any improvement in fine lines/crows feet or brownish dark circles. Nothing got better or worse so it was a wash. I didn’t reorder. Might be good for maintance in someone without any eye issues yet as a preventative.

This eye cream has a texture thats creamy but not too heavy/oily abd it absorbs pretty quick. It can be used on the lid and I also used it on my 11s. I used it AM and PM until the jar was empty and my starter crows feet didn’t get any worse than before I started it. It didnt cause millia and had no noticeable scent.

I didn’t find any negatives personally, however for folks that prefer a mineral spf or are sensitive to chemical spf might not be into it. Folks that are more melanated might have color-matching issues since the deepest shade is still pretty light considering all the various skintones in the world.

I bought this after deciding that my AM skincare/makeup routine was taking too long (close to an hour for a no-makeup look is just embarrassing.) I’ve used plenty of bb cushions before but this is my first full coverage one.  I wanted something with a solid spf that could easily be reapplied while also providing enough coverage where I could turn off the Zoom blurring filter. Extra marks for long lasting coverage.

This cushion fits the bill! I’m really happy with the medium coverage; photos below show clean face (1) and after 8 hours of wear (2). This is shade 21; there are two progressively deeper shades available.

The formula blends easily and a little goes a long way. It’s an spf 50 (chemical) so there’s no cast. I use a buffing brush to apply it since for me the cushion dispenses too much product. However, because I’m not using that much, I’m also using another spf underneath.

Another plus is that this cushion seems pretty easy to obtain, at least in the US. Stylevana sells it for an unbelievably low price (around $5) but I bought for $10 from Amazon since I wanted it in days, not weeks. Buying it from Missha will run you $20 and I believe yesstyle and many others offer it too.

While this cleanser works OK for me as a scrub, it doesn’t leave me with the same level of baby soft skin I get from other enzyme cleaners. Unlike other enzyme cleaners it didn’t really foam up and it didn’t leave my skin feeling cleansed, just scrubbed. This might be better for folks with younger normal or oily skin but for my early 40s dry skin, it just didn’t do much.

I only recently became aware of enzyme cleansers when I received a sample of a pricey rice-based one and fell in love with it. It gave me super soft skin so I was excited to try to find a similar and more affordable version. 

A few days before I got notification from Picky that I’d be receiving Wishtrend’s Green Tea and Enzyme cleanser, I bought another rice-and-papaya enzyme cleanser that was also super affordable so I’m comparing Wishtrend’s with an affordable and an expensive alternative.

Wishtrend’s Green Tea and Enzyme cleanser is a hybrid physical and chemical exfoliant cleanser that uses fruit enzymes and small grains to cleanse and smooth skin. Green tea is high in antioxidants and helps with hydration. 

Honestly, I’m wracking my brain thinking of actual positives. It’s a loverly fresh green color and I didn’t detect a scent. It didn’t irritate my skin at all and did an OK job as a scrub (although I don’t normally use physical exfoliants or scrubs.)
