I know we're all very excited and passionate about skincare and we love sharing our knowledge. But I want to make this post to implore you to be polite and friendly.

It's absolutely okay to disagree or to call someone out on misinformation. I just want to ask you to do so in a compassionate manner. Please don't tell people that what they're saying is "bullshit" or aggressively correct them.

I don't want to call out individuals because I'm sure it wasn't meant in a harmful manner. I simply want to remind you to be patient and positive in this community. We're all learning and we love what we do.

I've been on this app for less than two weeks and I've seen so many people ask exactly the same question someone else has already asked a few hours prior.

I obviously don't expect anyone to be online all the time but please use the search function at the top of the discussion page. So many people put effort in explaining things and this way you can get your answers more easily ✨

Use the search function!

I know we're all very upset when brands we love get criticism. But holding people accountable for either the products they produce or the political stances of the owner is not ""cancelling"" them. This expression is a word coming from right-wing circles to downplay any form of rightful criticism.

Please stop using this phrase and think about what you're really trying to express. Criticism within the skincare community, especially towards big brands and businesses, is a good thing. You can condone personal harassment but I'm begging you to stop reinforcing right-wing talking points.

Do you know who actually gets ""cancelled"" aka loses their reach, livelihood and personal safety? People of colour, trans and queer people speaking out, disabled people, etc. Not big corporations that get criticism when they fuck up. Let's calm down and evaluate what we're trying to achieve here.

"Cancel culture" is not a thing

I try to not have too many products open in case they go bad but I often can't help myself 🥴

It does leave your face slightly shiny - I don&#39;t mind but it might become an issue if you&#39;re wearing makeup.

Summary:
Excellent hydrating sunscreen with smooth texture and dewy finish. Did not irritate my skin and also didn&#39;t pill. 

Details:
This sunscreen is perfect for dry skin. It contains different molecules of hyaluronic acid to help hydrate the skin. It&#39;s a chemical sunscreen and leaves no white cast. 

It doesn&#39;t contain alcohol or fragrance and is therefore suitable for sensitive skin. The texture feels more like a moisturiser than a sunscreen and sinks into the skin easily. 

Isntree as a brand is vegan and cruelty free. With 31€ per 100ml this product lies in the mid-range of skincare products.

The only downside for me is that it&#39;s not very strong and while it smoothes out my skin overall, it doesn&#39;t seem to work that well against specific wrinkles.

Summary: 
This is one of the products of The Ordinary I&#39;ve used the longest. Non-irritating retinoid that is smooth, silky and easy to absorb.

Details:
This retinoid has a milky texture and a faint smell that I can&#39;t describe very well. I like the fact that it&#39;s free of fragrance, alcohol and essential oils. It&#39;s easily distributed over the skin.

I use this in the evening after cleansing and toner and follow with a moisturiser. I never had any redness or purging from this despite having sensitive skin. Granactive retinoid is a milder and weaker derivative of retinol and therefore better tolerated by the skin.

After using it my skin feels softer and smoother and I find it&#39;s evening out my texture to some extent. My skin is fine with me using this daily in the PM routine.

The Ordinary belongs to Deciem, which is a cruelty free and vegan skincare brand. At 32€ per 100ml this product lies in the mid-range of skincare products.

This peeling is very strong and can cause irritation, redness and pain. Only use it if your face is already used to exfoliation and don&#39;t mix it with other active ingredients.

This peeling works really well against spots and to prevent outbreaks in the future. It&#39;s easy to distribute over your face and due to the distinctive colour you end up looking like a vampire after a satisfying meal 😉 It contains an excellent mixture of exfoliants and does exactly what it advertises.

I have nothing bad to say about this product. It works well, is reasonably priced and comes in a suitable (recyclable) container.

Summary:
This is a lovely face oil that can also be used as a hair treatment. It doesn&#39;t have any particular smell and is easily distributed over the skin.

Details:
As all The Ordinary face oils this one comes in a tinted glass bottle with a dropper. I use it by putting a few drops on my palms, rubbing them together to create heat and then pressing the oil onto my skin. Marula oil is smooth and has no noticeable scent which I highly appreciate.

I only use it on my face so far but it can also be used on your hair for added moisture. Marula oil is a popular face oil for a reason. It doesn&#39;t clog pores, keeps the skin healthy and nourished and doesn&#39;t feel too heavy.

At 33€ per 100ml this lies in the mid-range for skincare products and is more expensive than other face oils. The Ordinary is part of the Deciem brand which is cruelty free and vegan.

This product is 66€ per 100ml and therefore lies in the higher range of skincare products. However (!) since you only need a very small amount, it&#39;s actually an affordable eye cream.

Summary:
Lightweight hydrating eye cream that didn&#39;t irritate my skin and managed to de-puff my eye area.

Details:
Before I tried this I thought eye creams are just glorified moisturisers to be very honest. But this one actually proved me wrong! Within one week my eye area was less puffy and I actually looked less tired, which is a miracle in itself.

The eye cream itself has a light watery texture without any noticeable smell. It glides onto the skin and easily absorbs. Since it&#39;s fragrance and alcohol free I found it not irritating at all. Thanks to the propanediol and other hydrating ingredients I actually found it particularly nice to apply.

The Inkey List as a company is cruelty free. This product contains beeswax and is therefore not vegan.
